I loved the coziness and the quietness. I felt like I was away from the whole world. It’s a really good location to get away from all the noise and hustle and bustle. I had a lot quiet time to reflect. And this holiday home afforded me that opportunity. The home was well quipped and what I loved the most was that I had my own privacy with a lakefront and an amazing view. I woke up to ducks quacking in the quiet lake. It was really an amazing experience and I would definitely visit again! A big thanks to Els for also being a very pleasant host and a very helpful one indeed. Thank you thank you thank you. Keep up the good work!

Disclaimer: This was a personal challenge and does not have any negative view of the property. It was a bit difficult initially to find easy access to food or shops around. This was eventually resolved when I found a fast food shop about 10-12mins walk from the property. I had the pleasure of enjoying yummy chicken wings and fries! 😁👌 However I suppose this is the whole essence of a getaway home. It is advised to be well prepared beforehand and bring along your food and/or food items as there is plenty of storage, a fridge and even a private barbecue area to have your own barbecue and grills! What a delight!

We stayed for 2 nights at De Steiger and spend new year's eve at Nettevallei. The chalet is cosy and just big enough for 2 people and a dog, it also has an enclosed garden. Everything was clean and the kitchen was tiny but well appointed.

But when we checked out, there was a big surprise as the extra costs for the gas/heating were very high. We checked the regular price for gas in advance and found it to be cheaper than what we had to pay. When we mentioned this to the owner the conversation became unpleasant. Afterwards we also think, the heater has a defect, as the consumption was the same, regardless if it's turned on 2 or 7. That seems very unusual and explains the high costs. Unfortunately the owner didn't handle our complaint professional, she even got mad and told us, we were "difficult guests". That was very disappointing and that's why our valuation is rather bad. The rent for the chalet was already pretty high and if one has to pay these gas prices for a whole week or so, it's very expensive. But sorribly there was no understanding for our problem and so we had to leave on rather bad terms.
