Mare Blue Ios

Located a couple of streets back from the beach and a short walk from the port, so pretty convenient although the road is unsealed so be aware of that. The room, although small, was nice and clean and there was housekeeping each day. Working fridge, TV and air-conditioning. Little patio with chairs which was a nice touch (although there wasn't really much to sit and look at), and a clothes drying line with pegs outside. Shower was outstanding (great water pressure and complimentary little soaps and shampoo) but the hot water ran out quite quickly. Lovely family running the place. WiFi in the room was great.

There was a window right by the bed without any curtains, so you could see right in day and night. I used one of the sheets provided as a curtain for that window... just a bit weird. There was no drinking water available for purchase at the property, so you had to walk back with heavy bottles of water from the local supermarket. The walls between rooms were a bit thin, so sometimes you could hear other guests banging around, but not a huge deal in the scheme of things.

Mare Blue was clean and the facilities were good. The staff were friendly and were always happy to try to accommodate the needs of the guest.

The property was extremely noisy. The staff had no control of the guests, who would shout and play music until early hours of the morning. It is the only downside of this apartment.

The staff who owned it were very nice and helpful. The location was alright. Great for the port and the beach as they are a 4 min walk away. To get into town it is about a 15 min walk up steps which is pretty tough. Can get the bus from the port into the town for €2 but it stops around 12.

The bathroom wasn’t great. The shower just wasn’t very clean. The toilet was soaked every time I showered. The distance from the town was a bit annoying but really wasn’t that bad of an issue with the bus.
