Best location in town, but could use some improvements

Great location and happy hour and breakfast. Updated rooms are nice.

Beds were too soft and too much light through front door. Thermostat would not go below 69.

Great getaway in the beautiful town of Claremont

The staff was amazing, so helpful. The bar was wonderful, great drinks and food. Breakfast was better by far than most hotels. The outdoor patio area is huge and with inviting couches and firepits. The room was big and has very nice furnishings. Claremont is a beautiful college town. We took a nice walk each morning. There are eateries everywhere and a very nice plaza with a movie theater on the same block as the hotel.

The only down side is the metro into LA is nearby. You do hear the train go by about a block and a half away. They are short as you hear them wiz by, but do happen throughout the day. It didn't bother us at all. On the upside if you are going to LA it will take you right downtown and you can Uber anywhere from there.

We were there to see relatives just a short walk away, so everything was perfect.

Location brilliant and the courtyard layout was very relaxing. Being right next to the music school of the university, we could sit there and listen to Johanne Sebastian Bach’s orchestral suites all afternoon!

the design of the hotel, with rooms around a courtyard, means that noise travels up. also it felt kind of strange to have a glass wall the only thing between me and people passing by my room (even though there were heavy drapes)
