The hotel’s name — Vieux Marais — is apt: almost everything about it feels old and dated. The location, however, is excellent, the beds are comfortable, and the air conditioning works well — a must during Paris summers.
The rooms are small and spartan, with cracked paint, and are desperately in need of renovation. The reception desk also takes your room key every time you leave, which feels infantilizing. If you’re simply looking for a reasonably priced base from which to explore Paris, the hotel does the job. But if you want a hotel that gives you joy, there are other, more stylish options in the area.

Ideal location in the heart of the Marais with comfortable bed and air conditioning. Good value and friendly staff.
The room was tired and cramped with cracks on the wall and desperately in need of renovation. You have to give key to reception every time you leave the hotel, which undermines independence.

The reception is beautifully styled, the location is fantastic and all of the staff were super helpful, both in the hotel and also with local recommendations. My room was on the interior of the building facing into the central courtyard so it was very quiet. The rooms are air conditioned.

The location in the Msrais seemed good
The room did not match the pictures we had to choose from. It was very small and very sterile. No pictures or anything of interest in the space
