Alghero Roof Garden

Nice, cozy, comfortable B&B close to Alghero Centro Storico. Friendly and helpful hosts, Dario and Margherita, always willing to assist with whatever you need. The king room with sea view we stayed in offers beautiful scenery with bright sunshine and romantic sunset. The room balcony is small but intimate so we started each day sitting there for a while over a cup of coffee. Actually the first coffee made by us 'cause the 830 breakfast was the moment of the day, a delight of fresh homemade croissants and real Italian coffee, cappuccino, espresso, Americano at your choice. Yogurt, cereal, milk and orange juice would complement the meal. The breakfast is served on the roof-top terrace with pots of blossomed flowers and mosaic coffee tables that give a good vibe and is a treat to the eyes. A few words about Alghero town. It's a must-see place boasting a medieval look, colorful buildings and narrow cobbled streets. Lots of restaurants and shops with prices ranging from affordable to expensive. You must experience Sardinian food and traditional sweets that are absolutely delicious. And of course, the Italian gelato with its unmistakable flavors. Last but not least, if you have time, get a car and go visit Castelsardo and Bosa. You won't regret it.

Very nice room, very clean and lovely balcony with soom sea view and amazing sunsets. Bathroom is also very clean and spacious. The hosts are lovely people, who welcome you directly and greet you every day. They kindly accommodated my breakfast due to my special diet. Airco was also good and it’s very close to the city center, great location!

The corridor is very loud. I wouldn’t recommend to people who like to sleep until late, especially that breakfast is only 8:30-9:30, so very short time frame. It is hard to park nearby, but there is a free parking space 10 min walk away.

Alghero Roof Garden was our first stop on a two week tour of Sardinia. The owners have worked in the tourist industry and in food marketing all their lives so it was a good place to start our trip as they were happy to share information/thoughts on our plans. Obviously they have a great local knowledge of Alghero and the surrounding area so they helped us sort out good places to walk, swim, eat and so on. We liked the location of the B&B. It was relatively quiet and it felt like a safe neighbourhood. The main advantage was that it's only a few minutes away from the beautiful seafront promenade that leads down to the Old Town. There's also a shorter and more direct route to the bus station, which is an easy 15 minute walk. There's an excellent take-away pizza place just round the corner. We enjoyed the 'classic' continental breakfast on the balcony amongst the flowering plants with the seabirds and swifts wheeling around overhead. The place was spotlessly clean. Our room was freshened up everyday and bed linen and towels changed after two nights. Efficient and quiet air conditioning if needed.

Being British, tea-making is always high on our agendas - we would have preferred a kettle in our room rather than than having a shared one on the hallway outside. We were always worried about disturbing other guests when we were sorting our first cup of the day.

Nothing special.

Our stay at this property was quite turbulent. Be aware that it is absolutely not suitable if you need a quiet working space during your stay. The only common area is the terrace, which becomes very hot in the summer—and to make matters worse, the internet doesn’t work there. The room we were assigned was small for 2 ppl having to work. During a client call I was taking quietly in the corridor, the owner approached me and shouted that I had only paid for a room and therefore couldn’t sit in the corridor while I was having my mic on. This is unacceptable. After that, they put in our room a little table with a folding chair, which was a nice gesture but didn’t erase what happened before. Throughout our stay, he also made multiple unnecessary comments about other guests, which was both unprofessional and uncomfortable. Overall, a disappointing experience.
