About this cottage rental

Comfortable gîte situated in a hamlet overlooking lake Bourget. The gîte is within easy reach of the Hautecombe Abbey, which contains the tombs of many illustrious Counts of Savoy as well as the last kings and queens of Italy.

A few minutes walk from the gîte, the restaurant at the ‘Belvedère de Grumeau’ will provide refreshments accompanied by magnificent views of the lake and surrounding mountains.

Walkers will enjoy the numerous hiking trails. Cyclists have the ‘Tour du lac Bourget’ which passes right by the village and climbers can scale the ‘Via Ferrata du Cornillon’ and marvel at the views from the Col-du-Chat.

From boat and bike hire, sailing courses and skydiving to a leisurely boat trip discovering the Canal de Savière, Lac du Bourget and the Rhône.

For wine enthusiasts; close by are the vineyards and wineries of Marestel, Jongieux, Monthoux and Chautagne.

Villages and towns; the ports, beaches and restaurants of Conjux, Chanaz, Bourget-du-Lac and Chindrieux are about ten to fifteen minutes by car. Chambéry, the capital of Savoie and the spa town of Aix-les-Bains are both easily accessible.

A little further; the winter sport stations of ‘Savoie Grand Revard’ & ‘Aillons-Margériaz’ and at less than an hour the Walibi amusement park, covering 35 hectares with 31 attractions.

A big thank you to our hosts, the cottage was lovely, well equipped, comfortable and very clean. The area was beautiful with amazing scenery. We especially enjoyed the views from the Dent du chat, the boat trip from Chanaz and a soothing afternoon spent at the thermal baths in Aix les Bains... Five days wasn't enough!

Loved the property but the location was a problem for us. It was quite remote, half hour round trip to get a baguette and difficult to go out to dinner and drive back on the twisty road at night. We adapted by going out to lunch instead, lots to see and do in the area and lovely hosts.

As a couple we had an enjoyable stay. We would like to come back to the area. The location of the house is good if you are looking for a quiet hamlet stay. If town shops are what you want this may disappoint you. The whole area around Lac du Bouget is stunning. iIf you want access to quieter beaches than Aix les Bains, then Conjux just 15 minutes away is good with safe, clear and supervised swimming for kids (and adults). The house was immaculate and well presented. Jim and Rose were very helpful and willing to provide practical information. Excellent and spectacular sites (and sights) such as the Dent du Chat and Mont Revard not to far away. Good walking area too. Three lakes within the area. Lac du Bouget (the best,,) Annecy (way to busy and crowded) and Lac du lit du Rio near Belley.

The property over all was superb and the surrounding area was beautiful. The owners were very helpful and could not have done more to make our stay more relaxing. A few things to note and do not let these put you off in any way they are just observations, when reading the Home and away website ad, it looks like the property has a microwave and an oven because of the columns. It is a microwave oven, This may limit some cooking options and was something I did not spot. Also the ad says towels provided, we did get an email before travel to say they would not be provided, but it was a consideration when booking, as space is a big issue when there are 5 in a car. Also a big consideration was internet with 3 teenageers, there is internet but it is very very slow. We would definitely return and would recommend it to friends and family.

We spent our Christmas at this property and it was one of our best Christmas break we had. This house have a lovely character and located in a quiet location surrounded by the forest and mountains. Property is close to a Chambery city where is lots to do(places to visit and nice charming restaurants to eat) and it's only 30 min drive to a ski resort, which is nice for a families with a small children. Over all I would like to say big Thank you for Jim and his wife for helping us through our stay, even know that it was a Christmas. Definitely will come back and highly recommended for others.

Merci Gisèle et Jim pour l'accueil, tout était parfait comme la première fois. Que dire du temps plus de 30 degrés tous les jours, cette fois ci nous avons profiter pleinement de la terrasse. Que c'est agréable de manger dehors de profiter de l'air pur de la montagne. Nous n'attendrons plus 4 ans pour y revenir. La région est tellement belle, il y a tant de choses à visiter. Nous avons pu profiter des sentiers de randonnée quasiment au pied du logement et nous avons fait de belles rencontres avec la faune sauvage. Le logement est parfait surtout quand il y a des pointes à 40 degrés. Pour ceux qui aiment le calme comme nous je le recommande vivement. Se réveiller au son de la nature ça n'a pas de prix. Merci encore Gisèle et Jim A bientôt Ludovic et Marie Claude

Superbe maison on s'y sent très bien, très bien équipée. Nous avons adoré l'architecture, la déco. Maison au calme, chaque chambre à une vue différente(vue partielle sur le lac du bourget, des montagnes) Quel plaisir de se lever et contempler la vue. Propriétaires très gentils. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir. Magnifique région. Séjour en famille avec 2 enfants de 9ans et 12ans.

Petite maison dans un petit hameau, très grand calme, très propre et tout à l'intérieur est aménagé et décoré avec un goût sûr et discret. On s'y sent très bien. Les propriétaires sont très aimables. Belle base pour aller faire "un peu" de dénivelé à vélo vers le Col du Grand Colombier, ou effectuer le tour du Lac du Bourget par exemple.

Le gîte est d’une propreté impeccable et il est bien équipé. Idéal pour une petite famille avec enfant ou bébé (il y a même des équipements de puériculture: baignoire, lit parapluie, chaise haute). Il situé dans un petit hameau très calme, de très belles randonnées sont accessibles sans prendre le véhicule. Nous remercions Jim et Gisèle et recommandons leur gîte.

La maison en elle meme est parfaite avec tous ce qu il faut . ( ne pas oublier de faire les courses) . La situation - si vous voulez du calme et vous reposez c'est l'endroit qu il faut . Il faut bien savoir par contre qu'il y a 20mn de route de montagne depuis Aix les bains et aucun magasin a cote . Pour nous c'etait parfait

Nous avons passé un super petit weekend, dans ce gîte très cosy. Un petit feu dans le poêle, nous attendait à notre arrivée dans la soirée, ce qui a tout de suite mis une ambiance fort agréable et chaleureuse! La literie est de qualité, tout le monde a apprécié et a bien dormi. De plus, plein de balades dans les environs, avec vu sur le lac du Bourget. C'est un gîte que je conseille sans aucune hésitation!

La cheminée était allumée à notre arrivée. On s'est vraiment senti acceuilli ! Les propriétaires sont très chaleureux et sympathiques. Nous avons passé un très bon séjour en famille malgré le manque de soleil et une pluie incessante !

Logement bien équipé, calme et propre. Garde bien le frais en été, très agréable en période de canicule. Très belle région. Excellent accueil et discrétion des propriétaires. A noter qu'il y a un lit parapluie et une baignoire pour bébé. Idéal pour petite famille.

Das Ferienhaus ist sehr ruhig auf dem Berg gelegen, genau, was wir suchten. Es ist sehr geschmackvoll in Naturmaterialien gehalten und makellos sauber. Sowohl die Alpen im Osten als auch das Rhonetal im Westen sind landschaftlich überaus reizvoll. Wir haben auch einen Tagesausflug nach Aosta gemacht (durch den Mont-Blanc-Tunnel). In der näheren Umgebung gibt es mit Chanaz, dem Canal de Saviere, dem Lac du Bourget, dem Wasserfall von Glandieu usw. usf. unglaublich viel zu entdecken. Gewandert sind wir nicht, weil es zu heiß war, wir wollen das aber im Herbst nachholen. Wegen des Internets: Wir waren zu dritt mit sechs internetfähigen Geräten, das Netz war nicht gerade schnell, aber absolut ausreichend auch zur Nutzung von Social Media. Unsere Vermieter Gisele und Jim waren sehr zugänglich und herzlich, der ganze Aufenthalt ließ nicht das Geringste zu wünschen übrig. Wir empfehlen das Ferienhaus ganz besonders für Gäste, die tagsüber die wunderschöne und historisch reiche Region entdecken und abends die herrliche Ruhe auf "ihrem" Berg genießen möchten.

Merci à Gisèle pour son accueil. Nous avons été formidablement bien reçu. Le logement est très bien, au calme avec des randonnées à faire quasiment au pied de la maison. La région est très belle il y a beaucoup de choses à visiter. Nous ne manquerons pas d’y revenir avec le soleil cette fois-ci. Merci encore pour ton accueil Gisèle.

Très bon séjour dans le gîte dont les propriétaires sont très accueillants. Les pièces sont de bonne taille et le logement est très bien équipé. A prévoir tout de même qu'il est retiré par rapport aux commerces. je recommande ce gîte.

Une maison vraiment reposante près de sites magnifiques

La maison est vraiment spacieuse, agréable, propre et très calme avec une terrasse bien exposée au moment de midi où nous avons pu manger en plein mois de février. Elle est est située en hauteur par une route bien accessible mais sinueuse. En 1 semaine, nous avons pu faire des sorties très variées: balade en raquettes à Sur-Lyand, randonnée proposée par l'office du tourisme au Bourget-du-lac, visite par un guide-conférencier du château et des vieilles rues de Chambéry, visite d'Aix-les-Bains avec la superbe collection de tableaux impressionnistes du musée Faure, Annecy et bien sûr l'abbaye de Hautecombe.

Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Die Gegend ist sehr vielseitig mit Bergen, Seen, schönen Städtchen. Das Haus ist gut gelegen und der See ca in 10 min zu erreichen. Einziger Nachteil ist, dass der Garten nicht blickgeschützt ist. Wir haben mit unserem 4jährigen Sohn eine tolle Woche verbracht und können uns gut vorstellen mal wieder bei Rose und Jim Urlaub zu machen.

Bâtisse ancienne rénovée avec goût et qui offre 3 chambres avec les commodités nécessaires pour passer un bon séjour. Gisèle et Jim nous ont accueilli chaleureusement et nous ont indiqué des sites sympathiques à visiter. Abbaye de Hautecombe, Chanaz et son marché des poitiers en juillet ainsi que la plage de conjux, familiale et peu connue ... La région offre beaucoup de possibilités avec la frontière suisse et Turin à 250 km. Bref, nous avons découvert et apprécié une région et recommandons ce logement, qui peut cependant être amélioré au niveau literie mais les hôtes sont tellement sympathiques!!!
