About this villa rental
• 2 kilometres from the beautiful white hillside village of Canillas de Aceituno
• 20 minutes from the lovely typically Spanish town of Velez Malaga
• 25 minutes from the coast
• 60 minutes from Malaga airport
Inside
With open-plan living, sitting and kitchen areas, high vaulted ceilings, pine doors and window shutters this villa has a fabulous spacious feel and wonderfully combines the modern with the traditional.
Sitting and dining areas:
• sitting area with log fire, seating for 6, coffee and side tables and bookcase, games, books, information and walking files. Wifi is available in the villa (details on arrival) and is also free in the village
• dining area with a large dining table and seating for 6
Kitchen:
• newly fitted with modern units, double Belfast sink, ceramic hob, combination microwave/convection oven, fridge-freezer, electric kettle, toaster, food processor, slow cooker, coffee press, a good collection of cooking utensils, tableware and even a selection of herbs and spices.
Bedrooms:
• 3 spacious bedrooms, 1 with king bed and the others, each with 2 single beds
• large built-in pine wardrobes
• fans, hairdryer, chests of drawers, side tables, chairs and also some toys and items left for your considerate use
Bathrooms:
• bathroom 1: newly fitted in modern, rustic style with bath, shower, WC, wash-basin and fitted wooden shelving
• bathroom 2: en-suite to main bedroom – fitted with WC, basin unit and shower; tiles have been chosen chosen to mimic the red glow of evening sunlight on the mountain which is viewed from the window.
3 gas heaters are available, but please note that these should never be used in a closed room and extra gas is not included in rental price.
Outside
• pool terrace: private pool (8x5m) with Roman steps; built-in BBQ; Moorish style bench, mosaic table with 6 chair; 6 sun loungers, parasol
• extensive garden and grounds which include olives, pomegranates, almonds, apricots, figs and herbs, in addition to specimen and natural trees and shrubs, cultivated and wild flowers

The villa itself was beautiful, the pool was perfect temperature and the views were stunning.
Unfortunately due to electrical issues my husband and I received numerous electric shocks from the appliances in the kitchen. Even a brand new toaster that we purchased ourselves. The host was good in that an electrician was offered but it wasn’t likely that it would be during our stay. We also had a fine when we left the property which I felt was very unreasonable as we left the villa clean and tidy. So if renting just make sure you do the cleaners job for her otherwise you’ll be fined too.
On our last morning the water ran out completely. We were unable to shower or use the toilets so not ideal when you have a house full of guests
. Communication was good with the host it’s just a shame those factors let it down. Having had those issues I don’t think we would return which is a shame but there are plenty of other villas in the same area

Beautiful views for a quiet holiday, wonderful sunrises and sunsets. Pool is perfect and the children loved it. Villa is comfortable.
The local town is unspoilt and only 5 minute drive.
Car required, to explore further afield and lots of things to keep a family busy in the area.
Area is amazing for hiking and cycling.

The villa was lovely we had a great week. What’s really special are the magnificent views, we enjoyed the outdoor areas and the pool was beautiful.
The local town was only a five minute drive away with some lovely places to eat. We visited the beaches at Nerja and also went to the bodega. Overall a lovely place to stay

Location and outside area, where we spent the majority of this chill out vacation, were very good. However the management of the property appears remote. The pool on arrival was algae bound and you could not view the bottom. No swimming for two days and the application of chemicals cleared the water at the end of the first week of our stay. A problem involving no water or power on day 3 was complicated by the information folder containing contact information for a caretaker who had not had involvement with the property for at least a year and the hosts mother. Later there was no hot water - three empty cans beneath the boiler but no person seemed responsible for replacing. We restored the service by using a gas canister from within the property. The bed mattresses and pillows were tired and not comfortable.
Great area for a holiday and we once again enjoyed our time around Canillas but the avoidable problems spoilt our first week.
