The value for the price was excellent. We were visiting from the DFW area, and a comparable room would have cost about twice as much there. The room was spotless, bright, and not outdated, and the toiletries in the room were generous and included lotion, bar soaps, shampoo, mouthwash, and toothbrushes. Even though I accidentally booked a smoking room (100% my fault), the smoke smell was very faint and did not bother me. The front desk guy was awesome too. I usually avoid motels with the doors facing the outside for safety reasons, but I didn't feel unsafe, see anyone loitering, or hear excessive noise from other guests. The exterior was also clean. I see how some reviews didn't like how the breakfast was coffee, juice, granola bars, and individually-wrapped muffins, but I felt that it was on par with the price I paid for the room. We are in Houston for sporting events pretty often, and we will not hesitate to stay here again.

The bed was a little firm, and I had to use the clip on a pen to make the drapes stay closed all the way. Neither of these things put a damper on our stay. There is also only one way in/out, and it was off of a one-way highway. I imagine it would be a hassle to double back if you missed the way in/out. Like another review mentioned, though, it probably helps make it a bit safer. Highway noise doesn't bother me personally, but this is not the hotel to stay at if if bothers you.
