Buckhorn Resort

Very clean and tidy rooms. It was like walking back in time but I liked that. Everyone in the bar/resturant very nice and helpful. Food was good also.

The only thing that bothered us was the bath tub was very noisy when you were standing in it. Other than that it was great

The Buckhorn Resort is off the beaten path, but I liked it that way. The restaurant (which was wonderful) overlooked the lake and the view was incredible! It was a 20 minute drive through beautiful forest to get to Munising. The place was occupied by people doing "Michigan things," fishing, boating 4-wheeling. (And snowmobiling in the winter.) There was no air conditioning, but it was not necessary. Most people (including me) were gone during the heat of the day, and the hottest day may have been 79 degrees in July. I turned on the heat the first night (radiator), and it gsot so toasty that I had to run the fan that was provided. The staff was friendly, from the bartenders to the servers and even the owners.

The shower could use some attention. The caulking looked old and needs to be refreshed. The shower was nice and hot and the water pressure was good!

Rooms are older style but very clean! Loved there was a quiet friendly atmosphere and a place for families to Picnic and relax together.

The only need I could see was an air conditioner for hot stuffy nights. We opened the windows and put the fan in it. That kept us cool.

The staff - Rita especially was very helpful & organized an extra fan for us when we realized there wasn’t AC. She also helped my husband call around to different hotels to see if we could find one with AC.

The Booking.com listing was misleading because I picked “air conditioning” as a filter, but only the 3-bed rooms include AC. We made-do because nothing else was available in the area, & were given an extra fan. Besides that, the bathroom was moldy all around the tub, and it looks like they just keep trying to cover it with sloppy caulking (we were in room 20, if that’s helpful). The toilet was also strange - it had a towel under it when we walked in, and it looks like it is because the tank was condensating all the time. It was weird! The floors also made our feet dirty - see photo of our feet in the tub after just walking around in the room. And one of the towels we got given had what looked like blood on it.
