This was a govt shutdown blessing. We would not have gone here if Mammoth Cave wasn't shutdown during Trump's longest shutdown of America. This state park is a true gem. The rangers are wonderful. The tours and hiking was great!!! The cabin itself was a cabin but had a working fireplace which really made it !
Electric and coffee pot wasn't working right and the toilet was running. Could do with some better upkeep. Also there was caution tape around our cabin which was weird.

The room was clean and comfortable. The lodge is showing a little bit of it's age but was still nice. Staff was friendly and responsive. It was a really pleasant stay and was very happy with the experience.
I didn't like that you could reserve space for the cave tour even as someone staying there. It was one of the reason for booking a room but had to get up and get in line for a ticket early.

It was dark when we arrived so we didn’t have much time to explore since we checked out the very next morning.
Wobbly toilets. Rusted toilet parts. Bugs. Ladybugs, stink bugs, and green flies in the room. My son was bit on the face by something, and my daughter broke out in a rash; we’re thinking dust mites.
