Lo Scoglio - Goelba

The location of the apartment is really awesome. When sitting on the terrace you have a beautiful view over the valley as far as Porto Azurro and the mountain range. There are jasmin bushes and a BBQ and outdoor shower. At night you can see glowworms (at least when we visited in May). The kitchen is small but nice and the beds are comfortable. Also there is aircon in the sleeping rooms and every is totally clean (spotless). The owners are super friendly and welcoming. There is a separate parking lot for the car nearby and the lot itself is really spaceous. Keep in mind that in the kitchen there is no oven (for pizza for example, only microwave with grill) and the coffee makers are not that good, so we were glad that we brought our own Nespresso machine. The owners live next door but tried really to be invisible. All in all we had a good stay.

To manage expectations: this is not a free standing house, even if it is advertised as 'Entire house' (italian agencies like to advertise it that way even if it's not). In this case, the "house" is the upper floor of a side building connected to the owners house, i.e. there is a structure underneath the apartment. There is also a locked door which leads to a staircase to the ground floor. So basically, you don't get the "entire house" but a separated apartment on the upper floor which is fine as long as you know what you signed up for. The driveway to the owners house is right around your terrace. Two times in the morning there was a water outage, so we brushed our teeth with bottled water. The rental agency appears to be a bit unprofessional. You have to send your billing details multiple times to different persons and even enter your passport data into some strange looking web form or send a picture of your passport via WhatsApp. On arrival they billed my credit card without telling me which amount they entered. Also I got no receipt or similar. However, the final price for the house was OK even if I didn't get a full invoice yet. We were told to contact them if we have any problems, but on the days of the water outage their response was slow - the second time not until the next morning (the next day!). So summing it all up: you can have great stay if you know what to expect. And if the agency improves their processes a little bit than everything would be OK.
