Beautiful Guest House Kailua Beach

The location of the house is great, conveniently located within walking distance of both the beach and Kailua's vibrant business district. The house is also nicely decorated with several elements from local artists.

This management group owns several homes on adjacent streets, and the reviews for two of the homes are mixed together on the Booking.com profile page. Due to this, I had read through several of the comments on the property page and thought I had booked a home with AC. The Mo'okua Street home does NOT have AC, and the tall bushes that surround the front yard mean that there is almost no breeze. To further exacerbate this issue, the windows for the guest house do not have adequate blinds or curtains. We had to keep the windows open and the fans on throughout the entire time we were there, just to make the space a tolerable temperature. While the windows are all open, there is no privacy. The bedroom windows look out right into the front porch (which shares an entryway with the main part of the house), and the front yard (so we were visible in our bedroom by people exiting and entering the other part of the house). To make matters worse, both of the bathroom windows had no cover and looked directly out onto a shared patio where the shared laundry facilities are located. We felt like we were putting on a show whenever we used the bathroom or changed clothes in our bedroom. The space is nice, but these two large issues would need to be corrected before we would consider staying here again.

The location is unbeatable

The bed was broken for both of our nights. I’m pregnant and already have difficulties sleeping but that made it even worst. Also I wish there was a shower soap available. My bad for not packing one but I kinda expect nowadays for it to be provided, not a big deal since it was an easy fix with a Whole Foods just 10 min away.

Location, options for windows or AC, wonderful porch, comfy bed. Provides beach towels, coolers and everything we needed.

Just the decorations were quite cheesy and could use an update. For that price we expected better design.
