Adams Ocean Front Resort

Old-fashioned motel with a comfortable bed, a clean room, and excellent location (and views from the 2nd and 3rd floors while sitting on rocking chairs). You can't beat the location. Some people may think it's not modern and fancy enough but it was clean and comfortable. There is a modern hotel right across the street but it has no balconies or rocking chairs so you're just looking out your window. This place is much better

The price was very high for essentially a motel.

What we liked about our stay was many of the staff was very friendly and that's a big plus. The location was excellent.

What we did not like about the stay was that the room had an old, unpleasant odor. Considering the very high price we paid for our stay, we also felt that the room was significantly overpriced and did not provide the level of comfort or quality we would have expected for the cost. In addition, what we did communicate to the front desk was that it was unpleasant to walk out of our room each day and immediately smell marijuana, as several people were smoking directly in front of our doors. While marijuana is legal in our state, individuals are still required to maintain a certain distance from business and residential entrances. I also overheard another guest complaining about the same issue, which gave me the impression that this was an ongoing and known problem that was not being addressed as seriously as it should have been. I was told that if I had brought the issue to their attention, someone would have said something to the individuals smoking. However, I feel that smoking directly in front of guest-room doors is significant enough that it should have been proactively addressed, particularly since there had already been a complaint about the same issue before we even checked into our room. Guests are certainly free to make their own choices, but they should also be mindful and respectful of other guests who do not smoke. We should not have had to repeatedly walk through marijuana smoke simply to enter or leave our room. For a hotel charging the price we paid, I would expect management to be more proactive in addressing an issue that directly affects the comfort and experience of its guests.
