Syntagma Square Athenian apartments

Location was great, apartment was spacious and had everything you would need

Access information was adequate but quite a bit of a rigmarole, ended up getting into the building through the big side door only when someone came back through it. I had already got into the alley way past the gate that comes down at night as it was daytime and the gate was up. The next door was locked not too sure how I was supposed to get through this door as I did not have any keys until I had reached my lock box on the outside of my room. Once I had those keys I had keys to all locks.

Very clean chic apartment right in town. You honestly can not beat that location! It was absolutely perfect!

It takes 30 minutes for the shower to heat up and the drain in the shower does not appear to work very well so the bathroom will flood when you shower. Not a dealbreaker tho since there’s another drain next to the toilet and the weather is so dry in Athens, it goes away quickly.

The location is really perfect the neighborhood is nice and quiet and safe The kitchen facilities are to the point you won’t feel you need more The check in was so professional and easy Air conditioning is perfect The bed was comfortable

The bathroom was really not clean it was full of ants we contacted the agent once he sent an insecticide once a pesticide company and we took it with no problem but he didn’t even care to send someone to clean after we had to clean the bathroom from the ant’s ourselves The plates and utensils in the kitchen were not clean whenever you grab something you have to rewash it They don’t offer cleaning during 5 days stay you pay 40 euros if you want Pair of towels if you need more it’s 10 euros The mentioned balcony is not really a balcony it’s shared with other rooms you can just hang the wash The outside sofa bed is horrible to sleep on so if you are 2 you will need to share the bed There was maintenance in the building which waked up every day from the noise

The apartment was clean and comfortable enough, and the location was great. We didn't mind the lack of light (as mentioned in many other reviews) since it meant comfortable sleep, and we were only in the apartment at night or for a quick stop in the day. The check-in information (although somewhat complex) was sent in advance and well explained and detailed (though it might pose a problem for people with poorer technology/English skills).

The outer gate (the shutter before the door to the apartment) can be a hassle if you're locked out. Our remote control key didn't work (if it is meant to open the shutter), and our other keys didn't fit the lock on the small door either. This wasn't a huge problem at the time (the shutter was open when we returned a little later), but since the shutter isn't mentioned anywhere on the main page (only on the check-in instructions), this was a problem we didn't expect to have when we booked the apartment. I don't even want to imagine someone with mobility issues having to get through the small gate.
