My husband and I loved the location and the view was amazing. We loved that it's so close to Iceberg Point, which is one of our favorite places to visit. The kitchen is beautiful and well equipped.
The first night we struggled to get hot water to the shower. The water heater was off, but my husband was able to fix it.

Beach front. Beautiful view if you could fully open the blinds to see it.
The property entry exterior was shabby, but we were hopeful the interior would be better. At first glance it seemed like it might be ok, the kitchen seemed to be new, but the furniture and decor every where else seemed old and not well kept. The bathroom looked partly done with new cabinets, but still had old pink tiles as the picture shows. However, it quickly became clear that there was a strange odor in the house, and one of our party who has occasional asthma was actually struggling to breathe. As we unpacked we quickly realized it would not be a pleasant or comfortable place to stay for 3 nights. We tried to open the front bedroom window, but there was no screen. The property manager told us it would be best not to keep it open at night because bats might fly in. The heavy wooden blinds on the front window did not raise, obstructing the most valuable part of the property, the view. There was a smashed bug on the wall in the living room, dust in the window sills, what appeared to be water damage in the skylight, and dirty dishes in kitchen. We called the property manager to see if there was any chance they had an alternative property on the island. It was no surprise that there wasn’t because it is summer in the San Juans. The property manager had told us the dust was just part of living on the island… everything is dusty… and it was an old house and had old house smell. At this point it was too late to leave the island and we didn’t have anywhere else to go, so our aunt took as much asthma medication as she could and we opened up the windows that we could, and we stayed the night. In the morning we packed up and left. We were able to find a last minute air bnb on San Juan for the next 2 nights. The new house was older, but well kept with no funky old smell or dust, and we were all able to breathe and enjoy our time on the islands.
This house has a lot of potential, there is a great view from the front and Lopez island is quaint and lovely.

This spacious dwelling is located in a very quiet place. It's a great location if you are looking for a picturesque quiet place. It is a good value for the money.
1) Upon arriving, there was no digital key at either the front or rear entrance. The booking was specific to this, giving a 10? digit code to be entered. After a bit of searching and uncertainty of having the correct location and a phone call, a mechanical key was located in an old school realtors lock box. 2) The shower simply has very little flow. Maybe it's calcium build-up from water minerals?

Location was perfect. The space was great. Furniture was comfortable. (Beds/couch).
Many dishes I pulled out to use were dirty, plates/bowls/butter knives.... I pulled 3 knives out before I got one that didn't have dried on stuff on it.
There wasn't batteries in one remote for the TV. I ended up finding some additional batteries about 30 minutes before we left, accidentally.
The listing said there was laundry facilities. The checkout instructions ask you to start laundry. There was not any washer/dryer that could be accessed (maybe there was some in the basement or garage, I'm not sure)
That was very disappointing, as having laundry facilities available played a roll in my decision.
I contacted support to ask what to do about the checkout instructions and they told me to strip the beds and fold the sheets. I told them I was not going to fold sheets that needed washing...

The house was super clean and comfortable in the inside. The view was amazing and so relaxing.
There needs to be clear documentation about accessing the private beach. If going on to the beach. Be careful of the edge because erosion issue. Don’t walk on the beach from end to end because the houses on the end do not want you on their property.

on the water but no safe water access
the website is not clear about water access. it also says pet friendly but they are not clear about what is and is not allowed until I asked. the skylight is invasive in the early morning hours.

The ocean views and proximity of Iceberg Point are worth the visit. In summer you can walk a kayak into the bay

The house was on the beach so the location has the most appeal! I loved hearing the waves crashing at night and the sunsets and sunrises were amazing! Absolutely beautiful! There is a trail park at the end of the dead-end road, however, it was so muddy I could not walk the entire trail so I'm not sure how long the trail is nor where it leads to. There is a small grocery store South on Mud Bay Rd before turning onto the house street located on Mackaye, which was convenient to get certain grocery items. The house was large and there is a DVD player so you can at least watch movies at night. Islander Bar and Grill had good food. Lopez Village was a cute but very small shopping center.
The house was satisfactory. It could really use some major updates. A lot of the outlets do not work. The shower head did not work property. The heating in the home was poor. In one of the bedrooms (it's really a makeshift bedroom, but it works) did not have any heat. The other bedrooms had limited heat so if you rent the house in cooler weather, keep that in mind. There is no WIFI INTERNET, CABLE TV, or CELL SERVICE so it was impossible to call out to anyone if needed. Lopez Village was tiny. The very few shops/restaurants they had were closed for the season or had very limited hours. The ONLY restaurant (Islander Bar and Grill), was open. Food was good but pricey. It would have been awesome to have a set of stairs/ramp/something to help accommodate the elderly or disabled folks to get down to the beach from private road. I traveled with my elderly, disabled mom and it was very difficult for her to get down the ocean. She was able to do it once with a lot of help, but she was unable to do it again.

The view from the home was beautiful and the kitchen had been updated more recently than the home.
Overall the house is in desperate need of upkeep and updating. A lot of it is falling apart, inside and out. Rusted heaters, very old furniture/linens, blinds that hardly work, etc. Could have stayed somewhere way nicer for the same price.

Gorgeous view and beach.
No cell and no land line bad combination.
There was a emergency on the road and nobody had cell service.
Took a lot of time to find someone home with a land line.
Also it was such a beautiful view but windows were dirty.
