It was an okay stay but I probably will not be back to this location .

I like the hotel wasn't that far from Del Grosso amusement park and the highway. If you were looking for food, you didn't have to drive far. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was perfect.

The breakfast could of had more of a variety and the pool had dead mosquitos in it. I didn't like the fact during check out, I couldn't get my printed receipt , due to booking through a 3rd party( which I never had any issues before). Most of the time during my stay, there wasn't anyone at the front desk.

Great price and clean

We decided at the last minute to go to a volleyball tournament at State College. Rooms there were too pricey, so I looked at hotels in Altoona. I saw reviews of this hotel so I booked it. It didn't disappoint. The price of the room was more than half the price and it was really clean.

We felt like royalty in our large room and comfy beds!

Incredible stay. Room far exceeded our expectations. Laundry facilities were available which was so helpful and very inexpensive. Hope to stay here again!

The only thing that was disappointing was that they were out of waffle mix at breakfast. They smelled so good we were looking forward to indulging.

Disappointing

General manager was snarky on morning of 6/29. I explained to her that we didn’t sleep from 730pm the night prior to 630am the morning of. They had placed a very disruptive family next door to us in room 315. Manager said we should have called down to the office. I used the chat option to avoid an awkward call. Do not provide a chat options for your guests and state that the response time is within minutes if you are not going to use it. This family was LOUD, tv was up loud, one of the kids was moaning and telling. Something was being bounced off the wall at times, like a ball. I asked to be comped for our first night for we didn’t sleep at all Friday evening.

General manager was unprofessional. When we arrived on Friday, both desk employees weee smoking outside in the parking lot and we had to wait for to finish. Bathroom sink was clogged and black stuff kept coming up from the drain. Left side room bed comforter had something spilled all down the side of it. We asked for a new white comforter and the kid gave us a brown small blanket. Parking was terrible.

Wonderful hotel when visiting Altoona!

We always enjoy this particular Wingate when visiting family in Pennsylvania. We love getting a two-room suite so we can all visit comfortably. We drive our EV on this trip, and the Wingate has two (non-Tesla) chargers. Luckily we were able to get hooked up our first night, because it took most of the weekend to charge our car sufficiently to head back home. Most of the chargers in this area are for Tesla, so being able to charge was very important to us.
