I canceled my Lake Tahoe trip to come back and stay here again.... it's just a terrific place

I liked it so much and it was such a nice short trip instead of going all the way up to Tahoe that I actually came back after a work trip near Lake Tahoe. Took more pics for the family, when they come down from Oregon, this Xmas. I really like this place and the staff is super nice. At under 120.00 a night, at this time of the season, it's a real bargain. Great rooms and saw 2 hot air balloons over Korbel winery, on the way home. The drive is so nice after getting off the freeway, it's like a relaxing drive in Tahoe or Monterey, with fun shops all over the place. Check out the photos . Great for the day, or a week, very close to the Cali coast and Muir Woods. Very clean and neat with all new appliances. PS. I found this on booking.com and paid full rate. I did not get a discount for any reviews. Never comment on travel sites, but was way over expectations...stay for yourself

Frankly, as a Disabled 67-year-old senior, that has been in Canada, all around the United States and a little bit abroad , this place is really a small gem. Very close to some of the most popular attractions in California on the North Coast. Great hosts, clean larger rooms than most, with a coffee shop, restaurant also on the property right next to the golf course. Yeah, you wish you could stay longer... no complaints, which is very rare, for me

An amazing place people and rate you must stay here

This place is truly fantastic the owner came out to meet me as soon as I drove up because I'm handicapped to help me get to the room and even with the bags phenomenal service located right next to the golf course and completely refurbished it was like a brand new room and the beds are super almost feathered Comfort I couldn't have been happier for even a $300 rate it was like going to Deluxe accommodations almost in Europe or at Lake Tahoe very very happy

This is one of the few times I can't think of anything negative about the room the host the location is fabulous and it's a pleasant drive from San Francisco or from anywhere in the Bay Area I'm coming in from Fremont California which is about 2 hours and you can find whatever you need very easily around the location

The bathtub had jets in it so it was very relaxing and comfortable. The location was awesome.

Since I was visiting for work, I couldn’t check in during the day so when I got there at night time there wasn’t anyone to help me check in. I didn’t get a text confirmation like they said I was supposed to so it was a little flustering being tired and not being able to Have someone to speak with.

We had a great vacation!

We arrived at this hotel after a 10-hour journey and were lucky to stay in one of the cabins. It was absolutely wonderful! The bedroom had a large, comfortable bed and plenty of space for our bags. The bathroom was spacious and stocked with a great selection of toiletries. There was a cozy living room with a fireplace and a big leather couch where you could stretch out and relax, plus a balcony. The kitchen was fully equipped with all kinds of dishes and utensils for any occasion, and the refrigerator was excellent. I completely fell in love with the sink — it was deep and super convenient to use. Outside the cabin, there were BBQ areas available. And all of this was set among majestic redwoods — simply stunning! The property also has a very clean pool, and the staff was incredibly friendly and polite. Thank you so much for everything you do. We truly didn’t want to leave. If we travel this way again, we’ll definitely stay at Casa Secoya once more — and we’ll be recommending it to our friends too. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Way too expensive for the quality.

The room setup with three beds was great for our family.

Mold in the bathroom, shower head spraying water up at the ceiling, ice machine broken, no coffee pot in the room, no table in the room, pool closed most of the year, beds were so soft you feel the metal frame.

This is a good motel - freshly renovated and in excellent location (Redwood park 10 min away). No breakfast but a cafe ($$$) nearby. But the price is excessive for this type of accommodation

Completely dishonest and unreliable hotel mananger. Very disappointing experience.

When my husband sat down on the bed (and he is not overweight at 80 kg), it collapsed under him. The reception was no longer staffed at that time, so we called the phone number posted on the reception window. A young man who barely spoke English was sent to assist us. We moved to another room, but we couldn't get a key for it—there was only a master key. If we wanted to leave the room and come back in, we had to find the man and ask him to unlock it for us. Additionally, the TV had no signal, and the young man couldn’t fix it either. He called the hotel manager and informed us that we could receive a 15% discount, but we responded that this was not acceptable (the overnight stay without breakfast cost over 200 USD). The next morning, we spoke to the hotel manager, who apologized politely and said that his employee had misunderstood him—he had meant 50% instead of 15%. He assured us that he would promptly process a 50% refund. We were satisfied and checked out. However, the promised discount was never refunded. My follow-up emails were ignored

The pool and open area. Bed was comfortable. There is a golf course next door and along street behind that was a nice walk.

The room was very sparse and plain. The pictures made it more inviting than it was in person. The room had lots of bottles of conditioner no shampoo.

Disappointed

I like the location in the redwoods

We had to request clean towels daily. We were told to leave our dirty towels on the doorstep and clean towels would be left for us. We returned late our second night and we had no towels. We tried to call the emergency number and text the number they had given us. There was no response. We couldn’t get towels til 9 am the next morning when the office opened. We decided to leave 2 days early because of our experience. We were told we would get a partial refund for the 2 days we had paid and didn’t use. No refund was ever given. This experience was disappointing.

Loved my stay at Casa Secoya :)

If Oscars were given for the exceptional reception performance, Casa Secoya would have taken them all! But seriously - the place is very well run; plenty of recommendations available for eating out, things to do in the area, etc… and all without being too pushy. There is a breakfast/lunch cafe within a stone’s throw and a restaurant nearby. The pool is very well maintained and felt clean. The property is not brand new, but appears to be run with love and care, I would totally recommend a stay!

location was perfect for my needs. place was very clean, very safe. far enough from town to avoid encampments and worries over the cars safety

I was in Room #1 which was very very small maybe 8x12 no desk or table surface to eat or work at. but for the money I wasn’t expecting it to be large. the only real complaint is that the room does not get dark at night with lights off. security light outside room makes the window glow like a light fixture at night and the LED light on the tv made the other half of the small room glow red. I had to unplug the tv to be able to get a little break from the light. the security light eventually turns off in the early morning. I doubt they know how bad the light pollution is or they def would not have it set up this way. Monday morning shower ran out of hot water almost immediately, I think it was from plumbing work being done as the water was hot Friday thru Sunday.

I liked the grounds and the location. The staff was exceptionally friendly. The wifi was good. Everything was clean.

The bed was comfortable but squeaky. It was also a little too soft for my liking but I still slept fine. I also prefer carpet in the whole room as opposed to a hard floor but that's just personal taste and no reflection on the quality of the hotel.

Location - convenient. Beautiful. SLightly close to the road, but that didn’t worry me. CLean, fresh white linen, bed was a bit squeaky and soft - may be an idea to consider new bedsets in the future.
