Shore Beach Houses - 38 D Lincoln Avenue

The minute we got there they gave us an upgrade to a bigger rental due to seeing how many kids we had, with no up charge.

The parking was difficult to be able to fit in, there wasn't much privacy with each area around us was a person and it was a bit loud which is too be expected with the area the rental is located at.

Small and cute property. Very close to the beach and boardwalk. Nice people.

A little dirty- bathroom wasn’t the best.

Customer service was excellent

The couch was so old and uncomfortable really needs to be replaced. Since it was an apartment I expected to have coffee pot and plates and utensils. There was no kitchen table and chairs however they did bring a small side table with chairs

The front desk staff were very pleasant, went out of the way to get us the wifi information from the building closest to us, even though it was pouring rain at the time. Proximity to the boardwalk was fantastic. Loved the front porch and use of the hotel pool next door.

The property is dated and run down and looked nothing like the pictures on booking.com (included in photos below), although it did appear to have been recently painted on the exterior. There were bare wires hanging from the walls, no light covers, ancient air conditioners that were extremely loud, and although it is rented as a vacation rental apartment, no dishes, pans, utensils, not even a coffee maker or toaster. It did have a small stove, refrigerator, and microwave. The table was an old card table and 3 patio chairs (patio had a split plastic bench and 2 old wooden inside chairs), the table was so bowed in the middle you could not sit liquids on it, everything went towards the middle. The bathroom had a single stall shower, in good shape, but the handle has been incorrectly installed, the single handle turned off in the middle with all hot to the right and all cold to the left. Your options were to have it almost turned off on the hot side to get a trickle of water for your shower or to turn back and forth between the hot and cold as it got extreme in either direction... Sleeper sofa was not needed thank goodness because it was in very bad shape. No hang bar in closets, not sure there were any functioning smoke detectors, several old plates on the wall. No doormat/rug or broom to keep the floors semi clean, no daily services. Seemed like it couldn't decide if it was a hotel (no Kitchen supplies) or a vacation rental (no cleaning/services). It was definitely more like a frat rental than a cottage, complete with beer cans and vomit in the alley walkway each morning. I did not attempt to change it or leave, the area was sold out and I knew it was only for a couple days... I just felt like at an average cost of almost $400 per night after fees, taxes, etc it should have been better.
