Casa da Porta Azul is a house located in the typical and original neighborhood of Beira Mar.
Located in the old part of the city, the house was totally rehabilitated in 2016 and designed in such a way as to maintain the original exterior appearance offering comfort and well-being inside.
The house has a bedroom, a bathroom, kitchen, living room and dining room and a fantastic interior courtyard.
The decoration of the house looks for the comfort, the functionality and the charm of the space.
The house is equipped with dining table, Sofa Bed, Smart TV 40 "with 100 cable channels, internet and a salamander for natural heating.
The kitchen has a fridge, microwave, induction hob, dishwasher and washing machine, coffee machine and all the necessary utensils for meals, if you do not let yourself be tempted by the numerous restaurants in the area.
The neighborhood of Beira Mar is the most typical and picturesque neighborhood of Aveiro. Here, in the center of the city, you can meet the most original characters and characteristics of the city (fisherman, salineiro, etc.).
Close enough you can find examples of New Art just as you can easily discover a Salt Navy.
Get lost in the Ria de Aveiro canals exploring the heart of the city.
Oh and be sure to try the Moles :)

The apartment is smaller than we thought but we did not spend much time in it. The apartments was clean and we did use the washing machine once which worked. We did not use the outside patio as the weather did not permit, there were some strong winds during the week. Some of the neighbors clothing blew on the patio, not sure which neighbor. We would recommend Yeah Aveiro, a local restaurant with great pizza. Boteco Aveiro, and Pizzaria do Nosso Bairro are also very good restaurant. The apartment is walkable to every section of the historic town and canals. We recommend taking a ride on the Moliceiros boats to see the city from the canals. Stop by and visit Capela De sao Bartolomeu chapel at the end of the street and read the story of the chapel. Felipe promply answered our questions. It was a good experience the apartment is good for a couple but would be crowded with more than 2 people.

This was our first experience with Vrbo. Our impressions from the ad was a location in view of the canal and a full laundry. What we got was a place on a narrow street and a washer but no dryer. Mostly this is a communication issue and our unfamiliarity with typical units in Europe.
1. We didn’t have instructions for the washer and everything is in Portuguese so it took YouTube and Google translate to figure it out
2. We found the drying rack which we set upon the living room but we didn’t know how to operate the HVAC unit to help get the clothing dry.
3. Appliances in the kitchen like the hot water kettle didn’t work
4. The bed and couch had an odor that was unpleasant, maybe the disinfectant used by the cleaning crew
If this is intended for English speakers then an English handbook would help.
