The Gatehouse Beckfoot Hall

This was a very special property for us. We will be keeping it on our 'favourites list'. It had everything that we could have wished for and more. Secluded and very private, with great views. The property is maintained to a high standard. The main bed (we only needed one) has got to be one of the most comfortable that we've slept in at a rental property, we didn't want to get up. The grounds are fantastic, we even had our very own little woodland area full of wildlife, such a pleasure to watch the birds and 'RED SQUIRRELS'. One of our key 'must haves' is a log burner, not that we needed it really as the heating throughout was spot on. The owners provided a starter pack of logs (additional logs were available at a very reasonable price) Also, the fresh flowers added a lovely touch, along with the biscuits as an extra treat. Thankyou to our hosts for such a wonderful holiday. We look forward to returning.

We found that the kitchen chopping/carving knives were blunt but could not find a sharpener. This is something that we have found in every holiday rental that we have visited. Maybe something to add to the utensils.
