Lovely house with many extras to add to all our enjoyment and comfort whilst feeling at home.
Plenty coats hooks and boot trays with a bench to help when getting footwear on and off at the front door.
Beds and bedding soooo comfortable and cosy.
Heating system (it was late October) simple and effective it meant we never lit the open fire as it was so good.
Large living room great for relaxing and socialising with enveloping couches, foot rests, games, local info, books and TV with great reception and access to live tv, iplayer, amazon etc.
Kitchen had everything you would expect plus so many extras, including lots of good cutlery and crockery, pots, pans and oven ware, utensils, big freezer, slow cooker etc and on top of that a great selection of provision basics such as herbs and spices, salt, pepper and vinegar, flour, cooking oil, tea, coffee and sugar, lots of cleaning/maintenance items such as dishwasher tablets, washing powder, bin bags etc and to top it all fresh milk and a welcome basket with goodies such as drinking chocolate, oatcakes, shorties, jam, marmalade and porage.
We all enjoyed relaxing on the comfy suite in the sun room every morning and evening with its great light and view of the very well enclosed and private garden which was perfect for the dog.
I appreciated the tasteful art work displayed on walls around the house. So often the art work displayed in holiday homes is cheesy and like it's been someone's granny's or from a second hand shop.
The whole effect of this made it feel extremely homely, comfortable and as if you had hired the house from friends.
We liked everything.

This is by far the best holiday house I have ever been in. It's coozy, comfy with a lovely little back garden. We ended up in the conservatory most every night just looking at the sky or reading. We travelled in Scotland for two weeks so to be able to do laundry and cook was great for us. Kingussie is also an amazing place in the highlands, we walked around almost all of the local hiking trails. We will be coming back!
The only downside was that we didn't know that the local Co-op would be closed for renovation (will be until beginning of november 2025). Since we travelled by train we had to take a few bustrips to Aviemore to shop groceries. Would recomend to look around the local shops in Kingussie, the cheese shop, the butcher and the old papershop sell vegetables, milk, coffee, eggs and the likes and the people are very nice and helpful.

Nice and spacious house, with a sofa to die for! I ended up in the conservatory a lot as it’s so comfy and lets in light etc. the kitchen is so well equipped as well, making cooking really easy.

The House was quite spacious, with a good sized Garden, the kitchen had all the equipment one would want, the lounge and furnishings were comfortable with a big TV.
On the day of departure there’s notices in all bedrooms to strip the beds, upon stripping both beds in the twin room we stayed in I was absolutely shocked to find that one of the duvets disgustingly stained with various different old stains and marks the pillow protectors also stained and the mattress protector on the other bed was also very discoloured, if I had of seen this before I most definitely would not have stayed on such badly stained bedding, also the conservatory windows could have done with a clean, when we did sit in the conservatory on occasions there was a barking dog next door in the garden so we ended up retreating to the lounge to escape the loud barking, I did contact the owner privately on our return regarding the filthy under bedding, I do know for sure that they did receive my email, but have chosen not to reply even to say they will look into this and thanks for making us aware, as previous holiday let owners ourselves this is definitely not how to treat guests.

Located in a lovely village. A fully equipped, new fitted kitchen. It was lovely to relax in the conservatory on the comfortable sofas after a busy day walking. The TV in the lounge has a Fire stick so you can use Netflix, Prime etc. Fast WiFi. Great location for hiking. A washing machine with powder to use came in handy. The house was spotlessly clean. A lovely welcome pack waiting for us.

Lovely snacks left and washing clothes/dishwasher tablets. Everything done to the best.
The bathrooms were oldish so could do with upgrading. However, The shower was good.

Very minor point but would have been good to know where the glass recycling was, but the house keeper let us know

Very clean, pleasant and thoughtfully laid out, beautifuly decorated. Well provided with essentials. Really good location in centre of Kingussie and a very interesting history to the cottage.
Minor niggles that didn't impinge on our enjoyment at all: The lock box was very difficult to open. And the back door was very difficult to lock and unlock requiring a nack. Mattress in small room not so comfy.

Carrick house is really well thought out. it had everything we needed to enjoy being in the house. lovely white towels, loads of kitchen equipment, high quality comfortable sofas, good WiFi, hive controlled heating, comfortable bedding, extra heaters, conservatory etc etc etc etc. It even had a dog bowl and golf clubs.
I was pleasantly surprised to find it had 2 bathrooms - I hadn’t read the spec properly.
the queen size bed was a little bit small for us.

Lovely clean, well equipped house. Great location for hillwalking, cycling and exploring the surrounding picturesque villages and beautiful beaches. The house, especially the conservatory, was just the job for relaxing after an active day.

The house was very spacious. It was clean with clear covid instructions and hand sanitizer in entrance hall. It was very well equipped and they had thought of everything. It was very comfortable and we loved spending time in the house in the evenings. Sun room was lovely and the house was lovely. Internet/WiFi very fast and multiple devices had no issues at all.
There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.

The house was bigger than expected and felt very spacious. Plenty of space for the 5 of us. It was clean and felt safe, with clear covid instructions and hand sanitizer in entrance hall. It was very well equipped and they had thought of everything! Even a cheese knife! This came in handy after our visit to the local cheese shop! It was very comfortable and we loved spending time in the house in the evenings. Sun room was lovely and the house was cosy. Garden a sun trap so nice to sit out in evenings with a cold glass of something. Neighbours were nice and friendly. It’s a great location and a short walk to local amenities. Internet/WiFi very fast and multiple devices had no issues at all.
The blinds in the bedrooms let in too much light. One of our children could not get to sleep. Another was up at 4.30!. We solved this on night 2 by putting towels/blankets over the blinds. Maybe an upgrade to black out blinds would be great! We found a mask that was not ours while stripping the bed on departure. The bed sheets were clean on arrival so I can only assume the mask had been mixed in with the laundry by mistake and not noticed by cleaner. Otherwise a perfect stay!

Carrick House is a gem! We loved our stay!
The house was spotlessly clean - which was so reassuring in these times. There was a clear checklist showing extra Covid cleaning that was done before our stay.
The house had every comfort - the owners are very considerate of their guests’ every possible need.
The weather during our stay was quite wet and dreary but we loved relaxing in the conservatory during the day, then retiring to the cosy living room at night.
We had a very relaxing stay and will definitely be returning to Carrick House! Thank you for the lovely stay!
Nothing at all!
