We stayed in the Captain's Quarters to celebrate my friend's 80th birthday. The room was beautiful and made for a memorable stay.
We had two rollaway beds added for our extra guests, and thankfully we were only staying one night because they weren't the most comfortable. It also seemed that only enough towels were provided for two people, despite there being four of us. The room had just one small coffee maker, which wasn't quite enough for our group.
The floor felt slightly tilted, although the boat itself didn't rock during our stay. One thing to keep in mind is that the Captain's Quarters is on the fifth floor, while the elevator only goes up to the third floor, so you'll need to climb two flights of stairs.
Overall, staying on the boat is a unique and enjoyable experience. There's a bar and restaurant on board if you prefer to stay put, and if you decide to explore, the location is excellent and within easy walking distance of many attractions.

Having never stayed on a riverboat, I found this place charming, especially the decor and some fixtures that looked like they could be from the original ship. I also appreciated how easy it was to walk downtown -- there's a walkway from the hotel that leads right into the outdoor mall and then into downtown.
The rooms, or at least mine, were on the smaller side, which was perfect for me as a solo traveler and likely would work fine if traveling with a partner. However, a single room might get a little tight for a family of three or more.
My only suggestion for improvement would be the valet service. Ultimately, I parked my car at a nearby garage about 7 minutes away (the hotel doesn't have its own parking lot). After waiting 10-15 minutes, there was still no sign of anyone at the valet, even after I called. Even with this, I'd consider staying again, particularly as a solo traveler.

The location in Old Sac and close to Sutter Field was perfect. The bar and restaurant were nice. Service was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and we had a view of the river! We went for the historical ambiance and were not disappointed! Would stay there again.
