About this cottage rental
The property is located within our small vineyard which in turn is located within a plot of land (owned by others), in the splendid Alcantara Valley. An ideal place to spend holidays in direct contact with nature and away from chaos and stress. The area is isolated and there are no houses nearby but it is located just 900 meters from the center of the town of Gaggi. Excellent starting point for excursions to the tourist locations in the area. (Taormina, Giardini Naxos, Aeolian Islands, Catania, Syracuse etc) or for beautiful walks (trekking) in the midst of nature (Rocche dell'Argimusco, Bosco di Malabotta, Etna Park, Alcantara River Park). Furthermore, less than an hour's drive away you can visit beautiful villages, one above all Montalbano Elicona elected the most beautiful village in Italy in 2015. If you are passionate about wine you can have tastings in the most prestigious Sicilian wineries located on the slopes of Etna along the road that leads to the medieval village of Randazzo with its numerous churches.
The structure consists of a small cottage (two-room) equipped with all the comforts to make your stay pleasant. The bedroom is air conditioned with a double bed ,the eat-in and equipped kitchen is equipped with electric paddle ventilation. The furnishings are simple but functional.
In the summer period you can use the above ground swimming pool and the solarium. (June-September)
Upon arrival you will be gifted with a bottle of my own wine.

Since the access road to the cottage is unpaved, cars with very low trim (sports cars) are not recommended. With cars with normal trim it can be driven without problems.

A small and simple house with the most beautiful location in the middle of the vineyard. The house contains everything you need and appeared very clean. The host Francesco is a very friendly and helpful person, with tips and information about the area, and supplier of fresh eggs, tomatoes, wine etc. The house also includes Rocky and Giacomina, an older dog and a cheeky but sweet cat, they live on the grounds , but suits itself. The area is located with a breathtaking view of the mountains, close to Etna, and close to the coast and the beautiful city of Taormina. The weather was beautiful and the pool was frequently used and regularly cleaned by Francesco. Summary, a fantastic stay that we can highly recommend and to which we would like to return.

Tout était parfait, propreté, équipement, localisation et surtout le calme de l’endroit. Avoir la piscine était très agréable compte tenu de la chaleur. Les propriétaires étaient attentifs et prévenants et nous ont donné de bons conseils pour visiter la région.

Das Ferienhaus befindet sich am Ortsrand von Gaggi, inmitten eines Weinbergs. Wir wurden bei unserer Ankunft freundlich und warmherzig begrüßt und erhielten sogleich eine Schüssel Tomaten/ Zwiebeln und Knoblauch aus dem Heimischen Garten und 3 Flaschen selbstgemachten Wein. Die Unterkunft teilte sich in zwei baulich getrennte Ferienwohnungen. Der Pool war ausreichend, mit Blick auf den Ätna. Die Außenanlage ist idyllisch angelegt, mit einer schönen Grillecke und gemütlicher Sitzecke unter Weinranken. Von Gaggi aus erreicht man die üblichen Ausflugsziele wie Taormina und den Ätna zeitnah und problemlos. Wir waren alles in allem begeistert und kommen gerne wieder.

This charming, simple house is set in the foothills of Etna surrounded by lush vineyards, olive & citrus groves. Its a great location for visiting Taormina and the coast as well as venturing up the Alcantara valley & villages beyond. Our hosts Francesco and Giovanna were welcoming and helpful, recommending places to visit. But it rained ... and rained. We didnt see Etna at all until our third day. So, be warned, late June in Sicily can feel much like England in April. Wed recommend this little house in Gaggi to anyone who likes to get away from it all for a while.
