Nice staff but unlocked room

The location was beautiful and right on the beach, and the workers were all super kind and helpful

Our door didn't close properly unless you scanned the keycard, but the keycards didn't work even after getting them fixed multiple times, so our belongings were in an unlocked room for hours

This hostel felt like home.

I stayed at the ITH Beach Bungalow for 9 days and it was one of the most relaxing stays I've ever had. I booked a private room upstairs (which includes a private bathroom / shower and a private mini fridge). This gave me the perfect balance between joining in on activities / socializing and coming back to myself. I recommend it to any fellow introvert ;) The beach location is ideal and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. I loved the breakfast pancakes and the communal kitchen, both great cost-savers for my trip! Also loved drinking some morning coffee in the hammocks overlooking the beach. The wifi connection was great, upstairs in my room too. Finally, thanks to the laundromat, dryer and iron I could get through my whole trip with only hand luggage and a backpack. If I ever return to San Diego, I will come back here for sure!

We got lucky finding the Boardwalk Hotel!

The room was spotless (and, I owned a cleaning business). The "old fashioned" appliances were cute. Bed super comfortable. It was in a great location- in between 2 pathways for walking/bike rides.

You can definitely hear everyone around you because of how the building is designed. It didn't bother us at all, but might be hard for light sleepers or people who are looking for a really quiet hotel.

Would recommend for a solo trip

You could not beat the Location and the vibe as soon as you walk in! You are right on the beach, close to everything that Pacific beach has to offer. This is definitely a hostel environment, so expect the ambiance to be fun, mingle, and laid back. I stayed in a private room and the room was comfortable and spacious.

No big deal, but you can tell the bedsheets/towels are a little old, but clean. I stayed downstairs in front of the common area and it was pretty noisy (they offered free earplugs). My only concern was someone was able to open my private room door with their keycard. Would still recommend.

10 Stars to all the ITH staff!

This is the best hostel we’ve ever booked so far. We booked for a private room and they gave us a VIP experience. Hands down to all the very warm and accommodating staff especially to Ziggy and to the Latina lady. They’re too generous to accommodate us. Even though the room’s small, they gave us what we really need. Thank you so much ITH! We’ll book with you again. Very satisfied customers here.

Absolutely amazing vibes at this place. I already want to plan to come back to san diego just to stay at this hostel.

The location is amazing. The staff is so nice. There is a pancake and egg breakfast included every day. The common areas are awesome. The hostel hosts daily events like sangria night, tie dying, poker, etc. Everyone is respectful of the space- I got lucky and no one in my room was loud at night. Gym equipment is provided. Bikes, surfboards, and wetsuits are available to rent at very reasonable prices. There is a hostel puppy named Olivia!

The shower curtain in our 4-bed room wasn’t long enough, and the liner was covered in black mold. The kitchen is very small. (But the pantry is huge)

Location was nice, and it had a nice vibe around the place. Can understand why people stay at the location.

Firstly, facilities are misleading, it said my room had a balcony when I booked, and this was the main reason for booking. However, the balcony, is the shared balcony at the front. The Double rooms, even though its hostel, need some attention as do some of the seating area. I dont expect it be perfect, but when things are ripped, it needs sorting. Being a bit older (52), I had no issue with the vibe and the place, but the quality of the room, curtains and stuff, could be better.

Disgusting, I would never stay here again

Close to the beach

This was the worst hostel I have stayed in. My friend and I even considered sleeping in our car one night a we felt more comfortable there. The dorms are distrusting, there was empty bottles and food left everywhere from past travellers without staff cleaning, the surfaces and floor were covered in dirt. The bathrooms looked and smelt like they had not been cleaned in months, the odour was almost unbearable, shower covered in mould. I couldn’t bring myself to sit in the common areas due to it being so filthy, I felt uncomfortable my entire stay due to the cleanliness of this hostel.

Right at the beach, but not as comfy as you might want it to be.

The location is very nice, right at the beach and when you (like me) don't have your own transport, it's also very close to a couple of bus lines that take you downtown or north.

The door to the room didn't close properly and squeezed very loudly every time someone leaves or comes in. The toilet was broken and water leaked. The toilet paper holder was broken and hanging only on one side ooff the wall. The place has a lot of potential but for some reason the sleeping rooms are neglected. The other areas are ok.

Run down place, no refund

The place is super run down and smells very strongly from all the weed people smoke in there. The surfing equipment is old and not much. Overall, not at all like in the fotos. We decide to check out 15 minutes after checking in and booked a different place close by. We were promised a refund for the 2nd and 3rd night, but the refund never came. If you want to go surfing in San Diego, there are a couple of alternatives. We would also recommend Ocean Beach over Mission Beach!

The place is dirty, there is hair and pelvic hair everywhere, not clean the linen smell like they not change the linen for new guest, linen smell to other people sweat, the breakfast the fruits were not in good condition, almost rotten, is very far from downtown in a place where is very windy and cold, Noisy place and not clean
