Inn at the Art Center

It was positively whimsical at the Chicken Farm this last weekend. It was very clean while still being funky and there was something cool to look at around every corner. Everything you needed right there didn’t need to leave and even had First Saturday to enjoy when we woke up the day of checkout! We stayed in the Pearl room and it really was so nice. Clean and climate controlled and well decorated. All of the “modern” touches you’d hope for at a hotel but with 10x the character.

There was nothing I disliked about our stay at the property.

I loved all of the art work around the inn and I enjoyed how close it was to everything downtown.

There was a few wasp nest above our patio door and it took a few days to take them down which caused my husband to be stung in the neck.

It was alright the location was okay. The staff was friendly.

Well I do believe it advertised breakfast while the were breakfast items available we were under the impression that it would be a hot breakfast but it wasn’t. The common kitchen was hard to get to unlock, and the lock to our room was also difficult at times. The shower was not very big and the shower door would stick. The top sheet on the bed was torn.

The room was nicely appointed and the shower was awesome.

It was not at all what I expected. The place is pretty large, but there are only 3 rooms for the Inn, the art community at the Art Center was absent and the restaurant inside the campus doesn’t open until sometime in April. The ‘art’ is more than a bit on the weird side (or ‘eclectic’ to be artsy about it), and being mostly deserted, the place was somewhat creepy. The room was OK, but the ‘breakfast’ was serve-yourself frozen Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches, pre-packaged fruit cups, and the microwave was broken. We ate at IHOP, about 5 miles away. Also, they had a Roku TV, but no WiFi, so to watch TV I had to use my phone as a hotspot, i.e. using my data allotment to watch TV in a room I paid for.
