Charming, home style , not overly commercial. Quiet place to sit outside and enjoy the trees and creek.
Could have used a full length mirror. Bathroom is small.

The breakfast was excellent, especially the fruit salad. The pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, orange juice and coffee were also very good. Everyone got the same breakfast mostly, but they will leave off things that people don’t want. The staff are lovely and kind. Check in was easy- they let us arrive at noon instead of 4 pm, and they showed us to our room. The room was decent, with a cute little retro refrigerator. There was an extra blanket in the closet, which was handy, since my husband got cold during the night, while I was too warm. The building and grounds are warm and welcoming, with numerous places to hang out with friends outside. Regarding the location, we were able to find most of the things we needed. There’s an organic grocery store, Safeway, Whole Foods, CVS, a variety of restaurants including a diner with good food, plus a toy store, clothing stores and sporting goods.
There wasn’t much to do around the area. It was by a series of malls, and the nearest mall seemed to be failing. There was a picnic table outside our room, and a family sat there to have a two hour conversation (although it was daylight, so not that bad). We wished that the bathroom light had been inside the bathroom so when someone would get up to use the restroom, they would have been less likely to wake the other person.

The location, parking, staff, cottage, breakfast, outdoor setting and happy hour, was all amazing.
Turning on the shower was difficult, you had to pull the handle, it was very hard to open and I was afraid I was going to break it, so I reported it to the staff and they were able to force it to pull out, management offered to replace the fixture, I said that was ok, it just needs some WD-40 oiling, I added some body lotion on the pull out handle and it worked fine after that, I loved the cottage.

The location was good and walkable into Sonoma. The outside area was nice. The wine reception was a nice touch but the woman hosting didn’t seem very keen and didn’t get involved/converse with any guests. It was unclear whether we could help ourselves to more wine or whether we were supposed to ask.
The rooms were not very clean, especially in more hidden areas such as blinds etc. My main issue is with breakfast. When I arrived, the host asked if we had any dietary requirements and I informed them I was vegetarian. When we went for breakfast the next day, there was no explanation of what would be served for breakfast and then a woman who didn’t speak English brought me breakfast with meat on the top. I find it crazy to go for breakfast and not be greeted or have a menu/choice of options but to not even be told what you’re being given is worse. I told the woman I was vegetarian but she didn’t understand and had to get someone else. Eventually they took my breakfast and brought me one without sausage, but it was cold and fairly small without the meat. I think the hotel really needs to have a host for breakfast to at least discuss with guests how breakfast works/what they are having rather than just having food brought to you with no communication.
