The Watergate Hotel Georgetown

I like the location and the atmosphere

Well maintained property, rooms are spacious, bathrooms are big with decent toiletries

Location is away from the visitor attractions of DC except for the Georgetown waterfront is close by. Food options are limited at the hotel. Specifically for me, I had booked a river view rooms and wasn’t happy with the view. There is a construction site nearby and there was some noise due to that.

We had a Suite on 3rd floor on corner with wrap around balcony. The shower is amazing and so is room service food. Having extra half bath is def a plus. Staff are very nice. There is a liquor store right in building downstairs next door and Tazza for breakfast and dinner (good pizza). Just far enough away from very touristy area, but a quick 5 min uber gets you to sights in dc without hassle. Good place to reach museums and Georgetown outside of dc.

Furniture is a little beat up, but did not deter from our comfort. There was construction outside, but you could not hear anything really through insulated windows. Wish half of the fridge was not filled, so we could have put some of our waters in it so they would be cold.

The spa is incredible.

I’ve been staying at the Watergate for the last four years. My most recent trip was for my daughter’s graduation from George Washington University. I also had two other couples stay at the hotel for the Graduation. I was given a room above the valet and car park. My guests were given better rooms. I had no screen door on my balcony, which I wanted to leave open for fresh air. We heard cars & valets every night. I should have been given another room or upgraded to make me happy, it was the worst room imaginable.
