Staying at Angel of the sea is like stepping back in time. It's an old Victorian building with the decor to match. The breakfast was very good. The afternoon tea and the evening wine and cheese are a nice extra. The beach chairs and bicycles are A nice extra.
The only negative was no elevators. The walk up the stairs 2 floors was a workout.

Outstanding made-to-order breakfast. Steps from the beach. Close to town. An enchanting porch used for relaxation and outdoor dining. Friendly, helpful staff. On site parking.
Beware of room choice. Three stories with no elevator.

The breakfast was excellent and there was plenty of food. Hot tea and fresh fruit was also served. The area was quaint and the same feeling of family that you get when you enter. Lots of history there.
The only problem we encountered was the lack of elevator and the very steep stair cases. At our age and with some past medical history I don’t think we would have booked this if we had known. But we did the best we could. I think that information should have been noted in their ads. But Beautiful place and location.

Location.
It felt neglected. I love vintage and antiques but it needed a whole refresh. Paint, curtains, furniture. Instead of feeling romantic it seemed more like a retirement home. Burn marks at the reception desk, broken furniture at the stairway entrance etc. Also, some nice fruit at breakfast but poached egg served on a croissant was just a soggy mess. Nearly all the bikes had rusted out chains.
