Oceanfront Cottage Near the Kalapana Lava Flows

Cute little property with just about everything you need for a comfortable stay! (A rice cooker might be a nice addition!) There’s a kitchenette with basic cookware and spices, a propane grill out back and washer too!

The lights are little dim for our liking but maybe that’s to deter bugs?

Right across the road from the ocean and a nice little black sand beach. A neat little quiet cottage that is off the beaten path. Was comfortable for a couple. Attending the Wednesday night gathering at Uncle Robert’s Awa Bar was fun with a variety of music and food available.

The cottages are just far enough from town to be private! The hosts are very helpful and friendly.

Great location. Super quiet. Right next to an awesome beach. In the middle of nowhere.

Lack of microwave in unit. They have a shared microwave in another building, which is right next to the laundry. The laundry room was disgusting so we weren’t able to heat up our food. We feel this booking was false advertising cause they said a microwave was available in the room. Which isn’t the case at all. We had brought a bunch of food to save money and couldnt imagine walking our food outside to reheat it in the dirty laundry room. Our bed was super uncomfortable. We honestly couldn’t make it 4 nights and had to check out after the 1st night. One of the other buildings in the condo had a ton of loud people. Made it hard to sleep. Lastly, there was no soap in the bathroom to shower.
