Orcas Hotel

The owners and staff were spectacular. The room was comfortable. The owners had been remodeling and doing a great job.

One of the windows couldn't stay open -- part of the remodel that wasn't done yet. Since there was no air conditioning (which is fine on the island), it would have been good to have both windows open.

The staff was lovely and willing to help If you have questions after 8pm however you have to email someone to get help. The onsite cafe open from 8am to 8pm was very busy especially right before the ferry arrives throughout the day. Hence they sometimes ran out of the things on the very limited menu but the food was good. If you are staying here rent a car for sure. The location is great for ferry access but you have to drive everywhere else.

I’m old, no elevator and we were on the 3rd floor. The young men there carried my luggage for me😀

Such a beautiful building, with lovely antique furniture - it only takes a minute to get into the mood. Right on the water! You can sit outside and enjoy the views over tea.

Our bed was too soft for my taste but my wife liked it.

Breakfast sandwich was good. We arrived at 8:05 pm with the ferry. Everything in that area is closed. Our room did not have a kettle to make tea or coffee. The Cafe at hotel closes at 8 pm, there was cookies and water in the room.

That there was no kettle to make tea or coffee in the room. The trundle bed was awful, it sloped. Better to take it out or renew mattress.
