Elevator took forever

The rate was excellent! The staff was professional and friendly. The building itself smelled fresh and clean. Overall, the building itself was pretty well maintained.

We originally got put in someone else's room or a dirty room... which was immediately resolved. The parking lot had a couple of major pothole areas from the machinery from their ongoing remodel. The door glass, elevator, and window glass in the room itself could use some cleaning...fingerprints everywhere. The beds were creaky...otherwise the rest of the hotel was well maintained. Breakfast was disappointing...we ended up going to Bob Evans instead!

Great location and friendly staff

The new upgrades were not designed well. There was no closet in the room. We had to go to the front desk to get an iron (they were accommodating) and the bathroom was too small. We had a “suite” but the sink was a single bowl with no counter space to put needed accessories. There was a small shelf under the sink but not very accessible or useful to get your things when needed. There were pegs to hang towels but they were too low & right above the toilet paper holder so you could not use them effectively. The plug near the sink for the hair dryer and hair products was too close to the mirror & was difficult to use-very little space for the plug to fit. The towels were in a nice towel “box” on the wall right beside the entrance to the shower but it was very close to the handicapped grab bar-if you used it you hit your head on the towel holder! Just getting out of the shower you had to be careful not to knock your head on the corner of the box. Very poorly designed.

The staff. They were friendly and accommodating.

The "updated" rooms were disappointing. There wasn't a closet, iron or ironing board, clock, coffeemaker. I was told the double queen rooms would never have closets. Construction continues and one morning there was not a breakfast offered because of a flood caused by the construction in the breakfast room. Booking.com would not give me a rate match. I asked for one because the rate I paid was higher than the rates posted for 2 weeks before our stay....for the same double queen, non-smoking, room. I sent screenshot and they still told me not enough info. We have stayed here several times. This stay was disappointing.
