Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham St Clairsville - Wheeling

Breakfast was good for its value.

Parking area was little clumsy.

Front desk staff was extremely helpful and personable. Any issues I had, they assisted. Switched rooms and it was clean and comfortable. There is a noise free rule between 10pm - 7am where it's a 2 strike policy. Aside from road noise below (on a hill), it was very quiet. Only heard the people next to me one night as they were coming in and getting settled. Loved that it was a smoke free hotel!

Hotel is under construction (that has gone longer than they anticipated). Parking lot is torn up with a ton of containers, work trucks and dumpsters, leaving it difficult to find places to park that doesn't block in a work truck. Has a very rough look when pulling up. Construction in lobby too. Various features broken (like laundry on some floors). There were some details that were definitely overlooked.

Breakfast could have been better- you get what you pay for.

The towels were very thin. The bathtub had no stopper to take a bath.

The staff. They were friendly and accommodating.

The "updated" rooms were disappointing. There wasn't a closet, iron or ironing board, clock, coffeemaker. I was told the double queen rooms would never have closets. Construction continues and one morning there was not a breakfast offered because of a flood caused by the construction in the breakfast room. Booking.com would not give me a rate match. I asked for one because the rate I paid was higher than the rates posted for 2 weeks before our stay....for the same double queen, non-smoking, room. I sent screenshot and they still told me not enough info. We have stayed here several times. This stay was disappointing.
