Just about average.

Location and staff were outstanding PM shift DeAngelo Crosby was very helpful with assisting me with an unauthorized charge to my credit card of $174.58. Hopefully there will not be a hold on my account due to this unforgettable mistake.

Breakfast was average at best. The noise from the fire station didn't allow for a good night's sleep to day the least..

Breakfast staff were fantastic and very easy to deal with.- however, the breakfast itself needs an overhaul - powdered eggs -how about go fresh fruit and made to order omelets or eggs over easy. But breakfast staff were fantastic and helpful, everything super clean and tidy and coffee pretty good (we dont usually like US coffee).

Disappointing, dreary hotel.

Location Breakfast next door

Reception staff were rude to indifferent. Breakfast was poor. The hotel was busy and the room we booked wasn’t available so were "upgraded" to a view room. The blinds were broken so you couldn’t see the view, and it was a very noisy room directly across from the fire station. It was a twin room while we’d booked a king room. Therefore we couldn’t share a bed. Felt more like a downgrade. Our friends staying here had problems also.

Good stay but just FYI…

The property had a modern look to it. The room was very clean upon arriving. The room had a fridge, tv, and very modern bathroom. The location made us feel very safe and it was close to many stores & all types of necessary locations that were all at a reasonable walking distance. Overall, I’d stay here again. It was nice and any complaints are just preference related that maybe others might care more for.

Upon checking in, the receptionist was very nice however did not give us much info about where our room was. Pretty much just gave us our room keys with a number on it. Luckily we had the logic to use the first number of our room to find the floor we were on. There’s a restaurant that’s connected/part of the hotel that’s very loud during certain times. Making a main entrance to get to the “front desk” would be helpful. During our stay, one of the elevators was out of service which made wait time for one longer, so we just used the stairs. The hotel is also connected to another hotel that’s using the same building so we were told we go into marked doors that said the name of that other hotel and use their elevators, but we would end up in their lobby. So it didn’t quite make sense to us. In our king room (which you would think is one of their better suites), there was only a fridge. Would’ve been nice to include at least a microwave. No complimentary water (only for members) & only a coffee machine. THE TV KEPT HAVING ERRORS. At any channel, the cable tv would lag & freeze. And an error message would appear. It would be like for a good minute and occur every couple of minutes.

The hotel had a welcoming atmosphere with clean, well-maintained rooms and a modern, comfortable design. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the location was perfect for exploring the city. We especially appreciated the smooth check-in process and the overall convenience throughout our stay.

Overall, our stay was pleasant, but there were a few areas that could be improved. The noise level at night was a bit higher than expected, which made it slightly difficult to sleep.

Came for a city break, got a front-row seat to Chicago’s emergency services soundtrack.

Location close to attractions

The noise. Non-stop. Day and night. It’s not the hotel’s fault that Chicago seems to run a 24/7 parade of emergency vehicles, but the sirens are so loud they feel designed to reach Alaska. Add that to poor window insulation and you’ll find yourself wide awake at 3am—even with earplugs and a white noise machine (which, to be fair, the hotel provides, acknowledging the issue). There’s also the occasional party car blasting music like it’s Coachella. Honestly, it’s not a restful place. Room itself felt dated and cleaning was… let’s say, American standard (found someone’s false eyelashes on the floor 🫠).

Pros and cons

- The breakfast was very good lots of options and it’s served in the lovely restaurant downstairs - the staff were all very kind and helpful - The location was very good lots of things around and good food close by - the location is good, but it can be loud, but the hotel did provide a noise, machine and earplugs, which was very helpful. I ended up sleeping very good.

- we were a group of five and the pullout couch was absolutely horrendous, very uncomfortable and had large stains all over it - the furniture in the room was very rundown and dirty, and some of the furniture doors didn’t even close - there was mold on the shower curtain - the bathroom door also would not close or lock - just for people know the location is very good however it is very close to the fire station, which can be loud sometimes

Great value in fantastic location

Very nice breakfast spread each day, varied from day to day with some items consistently offered. Extremely friendly and attentive staff at breakfast and at the main desk. Very clean room with option to forgo housekeeping for additional privacy.

The pillows were a little lumpy and the mattress was too firm.

Perfect Chicago girls weekend

Great location. Right across from the fire station but they provided ear plugs and a sound machine. It didn’t keep us from sleeping at all!! The staff was AWESOME!! From the front desk, restaurant, housekeeping, etc..everyone was kind and helpful. The room and lobby were so clean and beautiful and the breakfast was great!!

Super friendly staff!

Good location within walking distance of everything we came to see like millenium park & navy pier. Staff were all super nice. Room was comfy & clean. Breakfast wasn't too bad. We would stay again!

Only downfall is the fire station across the street, hearing sirens late into the night but that's not the hotels fault & they had a noise machine in the room that helped some.

I had a great stay.

I checked in late and the woman working at the front desk was ready for me when I arrived. Being from a big city myself, I appreciated that the doors were locked when I got there (again very late check-in) my room was comfortable and quiet even in a loud part of town. There was a sound machine provided incase things were too loud. The free breakfast was wonderful and my room was clean. I would absolutley stay again.

Hyatt Place made our stay as convenient and as welcoming as possible.

Staff was super helpful and friendly. You could tell they love their job. Room was spacious. Didn’t feel cramped. Parking was included in the price.

A/C was not working, which we were only told after checkin. Had been out for at least 4 days prior and no idea when it would be fixed. The room was hot and stuffy so we requested a refund and booked with another hotel down the road.

Excellent hotel in every way.

We really liked the location, vibe of the hotel, ease of getting checked in and out, and the room was nice and clean. We drove so pulled up in the alley way next to the hotel and they allowed us 15 minutes to check in and drop things off before we parked. The person there was very friendly. Loved that there was a Dohm sound machine as that’s what I use at home and it was a pleasant surprise. The shower was very powerful which was fantastic! Body wash, shampoo, and container in the showers. I never use those but did this time. They exceeded my expectations. Breakfast was very good with many options. The hotel was very clean and safe. All the staff that I encountered was very friendly. I enjoyed having the lights from the buildings in the evening. I loved my view from my bed. So appreciative that our view wasn’t a brick wall. We have had many brick wall views in the past.

Breakfast was really good, but very congested. We stood in line for a very long time, so when I went to get my coffee a few minutes before closing, they had taken the coffee away. Didn’t expect for the coffee to go until they closed the doors. Not a big deal as we only allowed 45 minutes for breakfast not knowing it would be so busy. I’m sure on a non-holiday weekend it wouldn’t have been a problem. I did notice after I had gone out and grabbed a coffee that there was coffee in the lobby. I didn’t know that that was there, so this really isn’t a negative, just an awareness. The only other negative was the pull out bed. Mattresses on those are usually thin, but it was very lumpy and uncomfortable. However, we were appreciative to have an extra space.
