I flew in for a pair of Mariners games and was pleasantly surprised by my experience at the Baroness Hotel. Check-in was easy across the street at the Inn at Virginia Mason. You need to use your key card to enter both the Baroness and your room. Elevator is old but cute.
My stay was great. Very quiet, never heard any guest noise. Bed was great, room had a portable AC unit set to 68 upon entry, and bathroom was good. Shower had good hot water, and I used the in-room coffee maker in the morning. TV and cabinet were definitely older, but I liked that vintage quality. Point is I slept well and enjoyed my stay at a great price point.
If you take the light rail from SeaTac, don’t exit at the Symphony stop and walk to the hotel. There is significant uphill walking. I can’t speak to the incline from the Capitol Hill station to the Baroness, but I’d try that before doing the walk from Symphony again.

No staff at this hotel you have to go to the Inn at Virginia Mason to check in. Our room had a tiny fridge and no freezer section like the other time we stayed there. Paid parking and if you leave you have to pay again. No AC. A lot of money for the accommodations.

This hotel is typically cheaper than most in the area. With virtually no amenities and no AC, it's what you should expect for a cheaper hotel in the downtown location.
I would consider staying here for the location and price point alone though.
