The location and breakfasts were amazing

The accommodations were clean and spacious. The breakfast was amazing and a great way to start the day. Our hosts were interesting, cheerful and very accommodating. The neighborhood was quiet. A great place to stay in Portland!

Lots of steps to climb with our suitcases, but that was a minor inconvenience.

Wow! What a gem! After a long day exploring the Old Port, it was so nice to get away to a quieter, less touristy part of Portland. There are loads of great restaurants in walking distance and the neighborhood is perfect for an evening wind down walk. The inn itself is beautiful. The art throughout made it feel like staying in a museum, and every space felt like it was designed with so much thought and care. This was easily one of the coziest and most memorable places we stayed on our trip throughout Maine and NH. It felt like a destination in itself and we didn't want to leave! The breakfast was also incredible - probably the best meal we had in Portland even with all the great restaurants we tried! We were only disappointed that we were only there for one morning because the entire menu looked amazing!

Stayed two nights here with my partner and it was OK. We were at the 146 pine st location. The facilities were fine—perfectly clean and had the basics, though we thought the rooms looked nicer online than in person. The neighborhood was really nice though and the area felt safe—definitely one of the nicer areas in Portland. Parking was also very easy.

The 146 pine st location of West End Inn is unstaffed (or at least was from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning when we stayed there). We let ourselves in with a key code. Overall it felt pretty odd and eerie that we didn’t see a single person there all weekend (guests or staff).
