Love the location, this was my fourth time over the years.

Very run down and short staffed. Felt out of date and not a good value for the price.

The staff was wonderful and I love the location.

The hotel has charm from an earlier era. Its location is stunning: perched on a cliff high above the Columbia River. Views from riverside rooms are expansive. Garden side rooms provide views of the parking lot. We enjoyed a very good breakfast in the hotel's dining room. The omelets were excellent. The lounge featured live music on Sunday evening.

Unfortunately, some of the facilities at the hotel are from another era. You might simply call them old. We had to accept a garden side room on our first night because the river side room we had booked was unavailable due to a maintenance issue. The staff was able to move us to a spacious river side room for our last two nights. The toilet in our new room would run after we had flushed it, so we had to turn the water supply off to avoid wasting water.

The hotel is lovely and historic. The staff is so nice!!!! You couldn't ask for better customer service.

The rooms aren't very nice. You can hear everyone everywhere and they are LOUD. We didn't sleep all night. The bed was so sloped, my daughter rolled off in the night hitting her head on the nightstand. The refrigerator didn't work so my insulin went bad. That was no good at all. We tried to put the leftovers from our $200 dinner in the fridge but they went bad as well. That is after they leaked through the takeout box. The ac unit had some odd blinking red and blue light we couldn't get to turn off. It was crazy bright and we finally found a blanket we had to put over it. However, the light was so bright it shone and blinked through the blanket. All night the room felt like a raid was happening. The view was beautiful but the price for the rooms are way way way overpriced. I honestly couldn't wait to leave.

Clean, well maintained, comfortable bed..

The host at dinner was not attentive, didn’t leave one or ask if we were interested in a beverage menu. Long wait until waitress came. She was fantastic & very personable. The original weirdness from the person who sat us & then left us ignored was kind of a bummer since we were celebrating an anniversary.

Smell, rude staff, had to carry heavy luggage up to second floor, and food was nasty

The restaurant was fabulous. Excellent menu, great food well prepared. Good wine list and great bar. Bar menu was also quite good and you cou eat outside with a view of the river or in the very elegant and comfortable lounge. The location had a very large garden with its own waterfall overlooking the Columbia River Gorge.

You had to ask the front desk staff to run the elevator (over 100 years old).

We were married here 37 years ago and came back for our anniversary. It is still so beautiful. The grounds and all the gardens are absolutely beautiful. The hotel sits on a bluff above the Columbia River. Staff was very nice and made our anniversary special. Our room, which had a gas fireplace, was beautiful with a view of the gardens and river. I highly recommend this hotel for a special occasion or a peaceful getaway.

Nothing I like at this place

Old hotel with moldy smell. Very tiny room and bathroom. No hooks for towels at all. Garden view it is roof view:( Personal is rude. The manadger is hiding from customers. Nobody knows where he is and when will be. Big signs all over that they have life music at 8 pm. But nobody told us that restaurant is closed at 8 pm. No music either. Bar has limited menu not good for vegetarian. Slow service too. Thursday hotel has wedding. Most property was closed.

Staff were pleasant and helpful. Great old building. Outstanding Location.

My comments below pertain to the Dinner as we did not have the breakfast. Food was good, but not great, Service was slow, Prices were high and not reflective of the food and service.

The location, the settings, the garden, the view and the room

We reserved a room facing the garden, but it was right above the garbage court. The AC was very noisy and not effective. There is no coffee machine in the room. Finally, the fine dining restaurant was quite mediocre. I recommend the casual one.

The property is stunning, perched on a cliff above the Columbia River. As soon as we entered the room, a bald eagle flew by at eye level.

We enjoyed the stay and the property is beautiful. There were big events while there so we felt it was hard to enjoy the property overall because we didn’t want to intrude, hopefully our next stay we make it on a weekend where there aren’t back to back events!

I didn’t particularly like having to need someone to take us up the elevator because there wasn’t always someone at the front desk.

The food was the best part of our stay.

No elevator access ( without assistance) for elderly patrons is a no go. The bed was not comfortable either.

The ambience was great. Property was well maintained.Gardens were beautiful.

Dining experience was not great. Dinner service was confusing. While a perfectly capable server was trying to serve us, an elderly host was stepping in and getting everyone confused. The server at breakfast was flustered, dropped and broke a dish and was overly apologetic. She was also a bit rude.

Some staff was cold and quite frankly, rude.

I liked being outside of the hubbub of town. The location on the river was so scenic and peaceful. We enjoyed watching a couple of weddings that occurred on the property while we were there.

I wish I’d had a coffee maker in my room. We coldn’t find help to get our bags downstairs on the day we checked out.

The hotel was vintage and the grounds were beautiful! The food at the hotel was delicious. The staff was very friendly. We loved our spacious room. We also stayed an extra night! The waterfall on the property was a nice surprise!

Location along the river is beautiful. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. The ambiance is exceptional

Please put coffee pots in the rooms. And a common ice maker on each floor.
