It was a very quaint hotel. Very walkable to restaurants, shopping and wine tasting.
A larger restroom and more detailed cleaning of the shower.

The hotel and room was unique, clean, and very comfortable. The overall experience was a solid value and just what we were looking for. The staff was friendly and helpful. We plan on staying there again.

The location was perfect! We could walk to dinner & window shop with ease. We also loved the cozy fireplace in the lobby for gathering & waiting. And the onsite restaurant was convenient and tasty.
The old-school elevator gave us a bit of trepidation. There wasn't even a panic button inside of it, so I don't know what one would have done had the elevator malfunctioned. We were on the 3rd floor and ended up taking that instead.

We loved staying here. They were so kind to our dog. They took pictures of them and put them on the dog wall and gave him a goodie bag. They made us feel very welcome. The extra icing on top was the live music by the fire. Thank you for creating a dreamy holiday Christmas environment. We will be back.

The location could not have been better. In the evening a live band played in the lobby, and it was decorated beautifully for the holidays. Loved that Broder Ost was just next to the lobby.
The heater in the room could not be turned off because it was old radiator heating...we had to sleep with the screenless window open and a fan blowing.

Cute, historic hotel located on the main street, which makes it perfect for exploring downtown and stopping into the tasting rooms and restaurants. Our room was okay - obviously it's not going to be new and expansive, but the beds were comfortable and there was a desk and armchair in the room. The bathroom was uber small, but it was clean with plenty of bathroom towels.
The bathroom is laid out oddly. You almost need to sit sideways on the toilet because the toilet paper holder is hung where your arm usually is, and one of the beds was placed too close to the bathroom door so you couldn't open the door all the way. The hotel provides a sampling of snacks, canned wine, water, and souvenir soap in the room, which was reasonably priced, but the candy was clearly old as the chocolate had melted, reformed, and melted again. (They were kind enough not to charge us for that.) No one had reattached the smoke alarm to the ceiling bracket, so it was hanging by the wires. My biggest complaint, though, was the amenity fee that was charged on arrival to cover wifi and free coffee in the lobby. If they want to provide wifi and free coffee, include it in the price of the room. Don't tack additional charges on after the fact - it makes it impossible to do a real price comparison of hotels in the area.

Dry sauna. Friendly staff.
Would have liked a small frig in the room. Rome 323 had a strong slope, as if the hotel was leaning.

The hotel is in a great location. Right in the middle of town. Everything is walkable.
It is a historic hotel so we expected "a historic" room. We've stayed in many. However there were things hard to deal with. The shower is extremely small. The sink is in the room. It's just a sink. No where to put anything, toothbrushes etc. There was no hot water in the entire building but that, I'm assuming, is not a regular event. They did refund us the last night but we really had to scramble to find somewhere else during wine crush and fruit harvest. All and all it was just OK.

I like the vibe of this historic hotel, I would stay again as it is a good value in a central location that accepts dogs.
My room was pretty loud with trains coming and going throughout the night... however, in all fairness there were ear plugs provided that I did not use.

Located right in the center of the downtown this historic hotel was so much fun. From the cozy lobby with a real fire place to the charming rooms this was the best hotel of our trip.

HRH has a great location right in the heart of Hood River, a fun, creative town on the Columbia River. Walking distance to shops, restaurants and the River where you can watch the kite surfers fly above the water is perfect. I loved the fresh apples and the ability to store my bike in a safe spot.
The trains are noisy, but the hotel provides ear plugs.

The location was great, the bed was very comfortable.
When I got to my room, it was roasting hot. I asked the front desk how to turn down the heat, and she said that it has to be hot because it's a big hotel. That makes no sense. I had to open the window on a first floor room, which is inherently unsafe, but it was necessary because of the extreme heat. The desk clerk also told me there was a fan in the room. The fan wouldn't stand up on its own, so I had to lean it against the wall, which was far enough away from the bed that it didn't cool the bed area at all.
When I got home, I saw an email saying that I was being charged an 'amenity fee'. I called the hotel to ask what that was. I was told that this fee includes the two beers I was given at check-in, the game room, and the coffee in the lobby. I wasn't offered any beer at check-in, and nobody told me about a game room or coffee. I discovered the coffee on my own when I left the next day.
The person on the phone said I had been checked in by housekeeping staff (?!) rather than a desk clerk, and that's why I wasn't told about these things. She said I'd be reimbursed. It's been 24 hours, and I have nothing by email or text reflecting the reimbursement.

Quirky, historic hotel on the Main Street of Hood River. Easy to walk to restaurants and shops. Rooms are small, sink in our room, in suite small toilet and shower. Great staff. We’d stay again.
Parking lot a block away.

I loved everything about this Vintage Hotel. They gave us a free upgrade and even my dog got a gift bag at check in. Beautiful view, excellent room and amenities inside.
Having to park on the street...the hotel should offer to validate or give you a parking pass.

Our unit was essentially a 1-bedroom apartment which was more than we expected! It was great having a kitchen and ample living space, closets, and a living room separate from the bedroom. We were unable to set up the Roku in the bedroom, but the one in the living room was fine. We were on the ground floor, and enjoyed having a private entrance to our unit, so we didn't have to go through the lobby or use the lift every time we were coming or going. Staff was very friendly and the unit itself was cozy. Bed & couch were both comfortable after long days of walking/hlking. Nearby to shops, restaurants, hiking, and orchards & fruit stands around Hood River Valley.
The railroad is only about a block away so it could be very loud at times, especially with early morning train routes. Our door was a few steps away from the pizza place next door, and unfortunately their garbage collection spot was fairly close, but we couldn't smell it from inside the unit. Public parking was easy to find, but $15 a day added up. Despite these small downsides, I would gladly rebook for our next trip.

Cutely decorated hotel that is in the downtown area, which is walkable to nearby shops, restaurants, etc
While the hotel is cute, it was expensive for what it is. Small room and bathroom, with very limited counter space to put personal belongings. In addition to the higher cost of the room, they charge an “amenity fee”, but not sure what additional amenities went above and beyond the room rate for the additional charge. Next time in the area, I would opt to stay elsewhere.

It’s very quirky and has a great historical atmosphere, including in the rooms. The location is great
The railroad goes outside and runs through the night, so can be a bit loud

The charm & history of the hotel
Staff was often not in attendance at the reception and a couple of them were not professional or particularly accommodating.
I booked 3 queen bed rooms for my family which were called rooftop rooms but were actually on a dull gravel rooftop small yard without any view.
One of the rooms had a kitchenette which was very nice but I would have liked if the cleaning staff had emptied the trash basket at least once during our 4 day stay.
The Towels in the bathrooms were clean but frayed.

Fun lobby, well located, interestingly appointed rooms
No AC control in our room. No one told us the 3rd floor has no air control. There was a heat wave while we were in town and the hotel’s central air was grossly ineffective (likely not working). Therefore, we had to sleep with window open. Never in my life have we encountered such continuous, non-stop, obnoxiously loud noise coming from the street, just below the window to our room. I requested a portable fan but none was provided. All of us slept poorly and couldn’t wait to be done with our stay

It’s a great location and the ambiance is great. Very friendly staff. Super clean!
Our room was tiny with no place to lay out our suitcase. Bathroom is definitely not for a tall person. I would choose a bigger room the next time

Location
Overpriced for mediocre amenities. The hotel is an historic building, but outside the decor and bedding, the rooms have never been updated. Get ready to feel like you’re staying in a dorm room from 1945.

Fantastic location, fun decor, historic hotel with unique charm. Great character.
Noise and windows. A huge efficient upgrade would be new windows. The single pane room windows are slid partially open in order to place the portable A/C in the room. This leaves a significant gap between the two window pieces and the regular trains/people/vehicle noise is right there in the room with you. Earplugs are kindly provided but, any window upgrades would be so beneficial.

Love the nook by the window for work, playing chess. Room very comfortable. Thank you for mailing back our left-behind item. And we appreciated the free coffee!
Nearby restaurants are pricey, if you want affordable food a drive is necessary.

Loved the little nooks where you could hang out. Met a wonderful couple and learned a new card game. Bonus!
The ticking of the hallway fan, BUT there were earplugs provided, lol, because of it being an old building. Thank you!

Location was in the heart of Hood River, so it was very convenient. However, the room I stayed in was quite old, but it was probably on me for not checking that it was a historic hotel. There was no AC in the room, but because of when I went, opening the windows were sufficient.
Wish that there was AC.

I think the room was extremely charming and the bed was very comfortable. The desk was greatly appreciated given the fact that I had to do some work during my stay. The location was also amazing.
One of the guests had a dog that was very vocal (barking, whining, etc). It's not really the fault of the hotel.
