Hotel Eklund

This really is a unique place to stay and it was a real treat staying in an 1880s Hotel with the history that comes with it. The rooms are nicely done, clean and smell wonderful. I will say that we were pleasantly surprised when we walked into our room and there was some soft jazz music playing in the background on the TV. Needless to say we left it on all night long as it was soothing to sleep to. When we travel to Colorado we usually stay overnight here.

I will say this time that the breakfast the next morning was a little lacking. I really hate to say that but there wasn't much on the table. This might have been due to that it was a Thursday morning, I'm not sure. We ended up going to the coffee shop just a little ways down from the Hotel.

The breakfast was excellent! Many choices of fresh fruit! Yogurt with many yummy things to add to it! Two choices of quiche,hard boiled egg,tea, coffee, choices of homemade breakfast breads. Fruit juice and cold milk

Historical hotel with rustic charm. Family owned and managed hotel in a small town. Staff and owner were welcoming and very helpful for local knowledge. Hotel has one of the best restaurants in town but are open Thursday, Friday and Saturday only. The lobby and dining area are like stepping back in time in a good way. Very cool and interesting hotel.

Nothing at all. It is a fantastic spot and I would definitely stay again if passing that way.

The hotel has lots of history and is pretty charming. It accepts dogs which worked well for our stay. Our room was somewhat disappointing though…It was small, dark, and the view was the rooftop of the adjoining bar. It is also situated near railroad tracks, so we experienced a “My Cousin Vinny” moment early in the morning. The free breakfast was good with a nice quiche and steel cut oatmeal. Most of the restaurants (including the hotel restaurant) were not open the first half of the week, so options were very limited.

The history and unique turn of the century furnishings. We also enjoyed the coffee shop across the street from the hotel.
