Mother Lode Motel

Their pool was exceptionally clean. It was the reason we booked this budget hotel and we were pleased with it.

It's an old hotel so with that said, old buildings, carpet, furniture, etc. The bedding could be updated and it would make a big difference. However, it all appeared to be clean.

Friendly check in up the road at their other motel. Room was clean and comfortable. Landscaping around motel was pleasant and there was plenty of places to relax on a bench around the pool or on the lawn.

Wifi was weak and unpredictable. Location is a bit far away from things.

The property/room was decent, it looked like it was recently updated: new bathroom floor tiles, sink, toilet, and shower, clean. Brand new towels. There is a pool as well.

The office was relocated to another site down the block because of renovation going on. The ironing board in the room didn’t have the padding, it was bare. No face tissue also. Carpet seems old need updating.

I loved the remodel. Floor and shower in bathroom was beautiful. Nice paint job. Great little refrigerator and so pleased there was a freezer with it as I have a foot problem and needed to freeze water bottles to do my exercises. I did not use the TV.. no time or the pool, but the pool looked lovely. The grounds were well kept and flowering. Very pretty.

There needs to be a table or something in the bathroom to hold cosmetic bags and personal items. There is not counter space around the sink and since there was no toilet lid, I could not even put things on the back of the toilet for fear they would fall in. I also suggest adding a comfortable plastic or water proof chair of some kind in the bathroom as well, because if I had been handicapped, I would have had no place to sit down to dry off except the bed. The chair in the shower would not have been sufficient. I do not think you want wet persons sitting on the bed. There was not a continental breakfast or hot breakfast as in other hotels in Folsom. But I did pay about $30 less per night, so eating in a diner the next morning was still within my budget. A breakfast there at the hotel would have been more convenient.

I had to switch properties because Internet did not work. The rooms are old and some furniture has missing screws. “Breakfast” is stale packaged danish. You have to make your own coffee in the room with a cheap single coffee machine. No napkins are provided. It was basic lodging if you are in a bind.

Not much to like. It was clean.

Bed was horrible. Staff was rude- we didn’t even know where to go because there was construction and an unclear sign to the office. They charged an astronomical amount for one dog. Really a bottom of the barrel place.

Better value than South Shore Tahoe motels. Great mattress, sheets and bedding, great sleep.

Placerville is beautiful anyways, so the location is wonderful, and the staff was very polite and helpful.

Just a couple of small areas on the floor needed repairs.

It was clean, comfortable, adequate. No frills. It was fine for my stay. I’m not impressed by hotel/motels that charge exorbitant expenses for a shower and place to sleep. Thank you Mother Load Motel and Bookings dot com!

I had to stay a night in Placerville when Highway 50 to South Lake Tahoe was closed due to heavy snows. Given the situation the lodging served it’s purpose, but wouldn’t recommend it for anything other than a single nights rest in a pinch.

Definitely overpriced for what you get. Very basic roadside motel. Scratched/chipped paint on walls, broken lamp fixtures, etc.

That a room was available..because of the storm we didn't have a choice.

No hot water in the shower...The TV didn't work..the phone didn't work..and when reported nothing for compensation was given

10 minutes after I checked in someone tried to open the door to my hotel room. I had secured it with a strap so when it turned the lock didn’t disengage. Distressed at this event I called the front desk. the clerk suggested I look out the window and tell them to go away or call 911 if i felt unsafe. but he would not change my room, would not offer a refund, and told me it was my problem If I felt unsafe. I argued with him because we all deserve to feel safe when traveling or at least feel like the staff are concerned even slightly. He said if I didn’t like it I could leave and hung up on me. I am appalled at this behavior.

Absolutely nothing, this was the worst property I’ve ever experienced in my 63 years of life. We did not stay the night because the rooms smelled of mold & cleaning products the rooms were misrepresented, you told us there would be no fee for a dog they told us $25. I called ahead & emailed ahead and asked for specific rooms in their separate motel up above the ones we were required to take & I was told they were available. When we arrived they said they were not available. I requested these rooms in the separate motel because many years prior we’d stayed and they were OK. The rooms they insisted we take, the rooms smelled of mold & cleaning products, carpets were filthy, the bedspreads had cigarette burn holes, two of our party have respiratory issues & we refused to stay and they refused to refund I am dealing my credit card company now. They stated they had no authority to waive any fees and we had to go back to Booking.com. When I read your site you said they had the authority. I didn’t know how to contact your company but something should be done to stop these people. Read the reviews they’ve done this over and over they are dishonest people they get your money then show you the horrible room. Stop this now. I will fight these people to the bitter end and will not pay the $540 they are insisting we owe. $100 of that was a dog deposit that was supposed to have been refunded when we left. These people are crooks. You should not represent them.

Location, quiet, safe.

The room inside had gross neglect. missing drawer pulls, chips & missing paint on furniture, blood stain on lamp shade, no sink stopper, someone tried to fill spot in shower where a rather large fell out and looks like a three year old was allowed to “splatter”putty in it with their fingers, towel bar ripped off and under sink, sheets (flat on top and bottom) were for king and kept coming off. This is my third time staying. This time with two beds and a different room. This room was awful! The room I had the two prior times was much better. I can think of anything other than ants all three times. I know they are trying to update rooms and I’m trying to cut them some slack. However, I haven’t seen any changes in the last year.

Broken sink and shower parts, terrible tube TV with xfinity, but there were no channels, and all the plugs were trashed. Also the mini fridge had no shelves.

Clean, nice staff. Nice pool.

Office under construction. Had to go to next motel to ask questions and the machines for drinks/snacks broken.

Location was convenient.

I didn’t like the loud water pump connected to the ac unit. It was very loud throughout the night. Also there was no continental breakfast. Pool should’ve opened a little early too.

Our room wasn't ready 2 hrs after check-in, they gave us a different room at their other motel next door, Gold Trail Motor Lodge. It was HORRIBLE!! The beds were uncomfortable, the toilet paper holder was broken, hanging off the wall, refrigerator was broken ac barely worked and there was NO hot water. I feel over charged, my body hurts from the bed, I will NEVER stay there again 🙃

The owner was very, very helpfyl!!

Loved the pool!

Guests were loud and stayed outside their rooms drinking until 2:00 a.m.
