Patty was exceptionally friendly and helpful when we asked where to hike in the park. She made us feel like we were old friends. There were DVDs & board games to use. That was very cool.

The staff were great. They did their best to make us comfortable and happy with our stay.
We requested a ground level room as my father-in-law has mobility challenges related to his knees. We completed this request through booking.com, and we received a response that this could be accommodated. However, once we checked in, our room was on the second floor. Staff tried their best to help us, but all the rooms at Appenzell with the same configuration were booked. We kept the room knowing that there was an elevator. However, on the second day of our stay, the elevator stopped working.
