Absentee staff, stupid water choices and forgetting to rinse cleaning products is what the Bergson is all about.

The property has big rooms and attempts to be charming and relaxing with fountains.

The unit above has a loud air conditioner that leaked and dripped heavily !! No staff was available when I checked in. They were rude to me over text message. They do not assume the customer is right.

Overall, our stay was very nice. Superb location. Very clean rooms, very friendly staff.

The breakfast was overall very good.

However, the eggs were ice cold; it would have been better to either warm them up a bit, or have them at room temperature. The bathroom fan seemed to be on for hours above or in the next room, so it was hard to fall asleep.

Disappointed and overcharged

Location

Jacuzzi did not work when I wanted to use it late at night. No staff was in the office late at night, and I also did not have the after hours phone number to call to report the issue because it wasn’t provided at check-in. I was still charged the full amount because management did not think it was their fault. I would not recommend this place.

The cottage was nice with our own entrance gate to the front yard of our cottage. There was an outdoor fireplace in the yard just outside our bedroom…. They served our wonderful breakfast in our room on time. The breakfast was great. We were like spoiled kids! Thank you to the Bergson management team. We enjoyed our stay there. Just the bathroom air vent circulator had a loud sound when we tuned the light on. You can check what I’m referring to… about the noise when you turn on the light in the bathroom.

jacuzzi was great. Room was spacious. Decor elegant. Heater and fan - perfect! fake fire - worked well. Furniture - took me back in time to how people with means used to decorate - made me feel special.

I would not recommend the breakfast or extra priced coffee, as it came to me a bit cool and not very strong. Better options were on the Main Street for both. The lobby did not feel welcoming and the odor of the cleaning products or some other chemicals was too strong. The lighting near the fireplace could have been lowered, allowing the fire place to be a visual invitation. Also, using bluer lights makes spaces less welcome. I would replace with bulbs that have a more yellow light.

Our booking thru booking.com specified 2 beds & a fold out couch, but no 2nd bed was available, the staff member had a take it or leave it attitude. The booking was for 3 adults but there was only 2 of things like cups, towels, gowns etc.

Property is a quick walk to Calistoga. Parking is outside of the rooms. Shower was good. Overall quiet but some noise from other rooms. Towels were good.

Room on small side. AC unit in room seems to be programmed. Breakfast is brought in a basket and you have fill out the menu by 7pm the night before. It is not a full breakfast - just yogurt, hard boiled egg or marble bread. And basic juice.

I would stay here again....

Perfect location in Calisotga. You can walk to everything. Best surprise was they partner with Stirling Vinyards if you mention that you are staying at the Burguson you may get a discount on the wine tasting fees!!! So excited as that was one of the excursions we were looking forward to.

I had a fireplace in my room that was really fake looking and the heater didn't heat the room very well. I may have not used it properly. Room was a little chilly.

Staff and service were great but the outside noise was bothersome.

Really enjoyed the continental breakfast brought me in the morning and the beds were comfy.

The bathroom was very small and the walls were paper thin. We could all the cars on the road. My husband is a light sleeper, so hearing them early in the morning was bothersome.

The bed was comfortable and the staff was wonderful. Also I really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast with the homemade baked goods being delivered straight to my room every morning.

Prior to my stay I made several attempts to reach someone to discuss extending my stay but was usable to speak with anyone. My booking agent even tried to call with no avail. I was finally able to book another night a couple of days prior to my arrival. Also didnt care for the restricted timeframe of being able to chance my reservation. I made reservations a year ago and was never able to cancel if needed.

My favorite place to stay in Calistoga, nice facility with private parking and walking distance to shops & restaurants. Perhaps the best value in town.

It seems like the property has been purchased by Best Western and the quality of everything has deteriorated. On par with what you would expect from a Best Western and not on par with previous stays. The quality of the room had deteriorated significantly, the breakfast used to be served in ceramic dishes and now it is served in plastic and cheap everything. This used to feel like a quality, quaint bed & breakfast and that's why we loved it so much. We had multiple issues with our room (to the extent that we had considered changing rooms) and while the staff did their best to accommodate us, at the end of the trip, we had such an uncomfortable room experience that we should have been compensated somehow but they chose to take the easy way out and said they couldn't do anything for us because we booked through a 3rd party. They could have done *something* especially since we have been coming here every year for the past 7-8 years but customer loyalty seems to mean nothing to them. It is not the same property that we have been loyal patrons of for years. Unfortunate.

Loved the very comfy bed, and ample, fluffy pillows. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Parking was great. Loved the breakfast!

Location is good— easy walk into town. Comfortable snd quiet— very clean. Good value relative to the other accommodations nearby.

Room was is nice but lacks comfortable touches like rugs. Bare Floor was sticky and cold. Breakfast is a little skimpy— just barely adequate. Bathroom shower plumbing fixtures didn’t work— just spun around— water either too hot or too cold. Shower tile and bathroom floor are dangerously slick— need a shower mat and rug to prevent falls!

Wonderful location and very good value

Our room (108) is small but super cute. Everything was very clean and in good condition. The rooms come with a really nice continental breakfast that is delivered to your room. You pick your choices the night before and it shows up at the time you choose. The wine shop next door provides a complimentary wine tasting for Bergson guests. Downtown starts like two blocks away. We would definitely stay here again.

Our room had an outdoor gas fireplace in the courtyard but it wasn’t working. I made the staff aware of the issue.

Great location. Nicely maintained. Bedlinens Occitane shower products were nice & I enjoyed the robe. Complimentary healthy options (&tasty cakes) breakfast delivered to our room was a treat (pre-ordered selection). Free tastings at the Tank winery nextdoor if staying here. room was delightful, all items in the room what youd expect but often dont get, like Glasses not plastic, bathroom creams and shampoos high level of product, service and friendly staff .. nice pattio with couch anf chairs and tabe comfortable and all padded.

Bed mattress for us was a bit firm, pillows were wonderful our room by the busy road, ok at night due to fans and lower traffic, in the future will ask for different room.

Location was great. Few minutes drive to many wineries, walking distance to many restaurants! We enjoyed the cute room with many amenities. It was very clean and comfortable. It felt like a little apartment getaway. The breakfast was super great, as we got to select from it before the morning and it was freshly delivered at the time we specified.

Wonderful!

Everything was great. The room was spotless and very comfortable. We'd asked for synthetic pillows and a synthetic duvet (we're allergic to feathers) and these were provided. The breakfast (delivered to our room!) was fantastic. Love the white noise machine in the room.
