Hotel fail to honor the reservation and double booked our room. Demand refund for Saturday night,

After contacting and notifying both Booking.com and Marriot of one day late arrival (due to school soccer playoff game on Saturday) when we arrived the hotel room was still not ready. We had to wait additional 3 hours to get a room we had already paid. We request Saturday fee to be refunded since Marriot hotel already gave our room to another client. This is ethical business practice and will contact BBB if not refunded.

It’s a simple hotel that has everything I need for my travels. I would stay there again.

At first I thought I would have to pay for parking but the hotel has their guests covered. When I was checking out the staff let me know what I could do to avoid that. It was simple and easy. I loved they had starbucks inside as well as walking distance. It was only a 7 minute drive away from the offices I had a work meeting so it was great!

Needs updating

We have stayed here many times as this is our second child attending college nearby. It is a fantastic location and you can walk to a great mall that has really good food choices and places to shop.

The a/c did not seem to be working in our room. I got up quite a few times because of how hot it was and kept lowering it and could not understand why the room was not getting cold. I realized the next morning after seeing that the curtain kept getting suctioned to the return that the air was not working because the return was blocked. After searching the area, we found there was a hook for the curtain so it would not suction to the return. When we checked out I mentioned this to the person checking us out and said it would have been helpful to know about the hook when we checked in so we could have had a cooler room. She said she doesn't know about any of the rooms, it would have to come from housekeeping, but it seems like if this is a known issue that they have installed a special hook, that could be in the notes. It was very frustrating and I am not sure if I will stay here again even though my youngest has two more years in SD.

My experience was decent/challenging. What made this review go up is the person I spoke to when I checked out. She was very kind. I appreciate her understanding. I told her I wanted to have a great hotel experience. While that was not the exact case she made me want to give Marriott another try. I did not get her name, but I thank you for your sweet demeanor.

I paid additional for an upper room. My room was on the fifth floor. The bathroom was not satisfactorily cleaned. Tub was dirty, hair in the corner on the floor, and shower gel was not refilled.

The hotel location is a plus since very near to UCSD and a walking distance to a large shopping mall

The breakfast included in the booking allowed to selected from a menu that included several well served options. This is different than a buffet. The staff members were attentive.

The rooms and hotel demands some remodeling or better maintenance. The exhaustion in the bathroom was not working and there where no safe in the room.

Staff was very rude . + breakfast was limited without much options . And i had already paid for the breakfast But while paying it was not mentioned that there will be fixed menu . Overall bad experience

Staff behaviour . At check in also very rude . Key didnt work had to come down again and staff didnt even apologise. No hot water in room . Breakfast staff was also very rude and bad service + had to again go and take the breakfast coupon . ( when i have already paid for it WHY didnt they give me during my check in ) and my wife was not allowed breakfast Till i went up to the recpetion and took the coupon .

The staff was amazing! Especially the valet , this younger lady was great . My wife needed something out of our vehicle and she insisted to get it out for us after we said we would. She sprinted to our vehicle, yes sprinted!! That was just one great moment we had with staff .

The hotel looks nice. The staff was professional and attentive. Good variety for breakfast.

The room was small for 4 people. We were very uncomfortable in a tinny room. A family of four shouldn’t be allowed to book a room that doesn’t accommodate everyone. Soundproofing were not good as well. We could hear the loud noises from outside what made it difficult to rest. To park the car was ridiculous expensive. Even though I am a bonvoy member I was charged for 2 days of internet use.

The location was perfect; close to the beach, the mall, restaurants, etc. The staff that helped us when checking out was also quite helpful.

First, we got the wrong room when we first got there. We got a room with one bed when I had asked for one room with two full beds. Then, the fridge had food from the previous guests I’m assuming, unless one of the maids left it there which I doubt. Finally, although I appreciate the cleaning of the room before our arrival, the smell of chlorine was quite strong.

It was fair. I would not stay there again

it was just ok

the beds were very hard/uncomfortable. our group had planned on enjoying the “heated pool” only to find it very cold, therefore our large group of kids were unable to swim. it took us a while to even find the pool, due to a “detour.” there was no signage as to how to go to the pool and nobody told us when we checked in.The breakfast buffet was fair. The food that should have been hot was barely warm.
