Cedar Pines Resort

The place is good for family. Although it is a bit old, but everything is still proper maintained. Beds are perfect for 6 people.

The dining table is wonderful for four, but for 5-6 people will be a little small, and there are only 4 chairs.

It was a great location for what we wanted to do with our family. There were a total of 6 beds in the cabin (4 twins up in the loft, 1 full bed in main room, and a futon couch in the living room) and enough space for us (family of 5) to relax, eat, and enjoy our mini getaway where we spent our days outdoors. It was a quaint little cabin (loft, bedroom, living room, kitchen, and one bathroom - size of a tiny home as perspective). We had enough shampoo (hotel size total of 4 or 5) and soap (also hotel size 4 or 5) and bath towels (6). Not enough wash cloths (2) and since it's not a hotel we couldn't call a front desk to request more; we understand and are not mad. Overall, it still met what we needed since we spent most of days at the lake and exploring during the last weekend of summer before our teenagers go back to school. Parking was perfect, we only had one vehicle and we were able to park in front of our cabin. There are many stores and restaurants within less than 5 miles. Not too far from Heavenly Village for shopping and restaurants. We will come back again! The whole family said!

The kitchen was very basic. With teenagers, they love frozen meals. There wasn't a cooking/cookie sheet to bake their frozen pizza so we had to make due with what was available. The knobs on the oven were worn down so it was tough to read the temperature on the oven knob. The kitchen does have the most basic items - silverware, plates, cups, coffee machine, stove/oven, microwave, refrigerator, sink, dish rack (no dishwasher), sponge, soap, kitchen utensils, toaster, spices, roll of paper towel, and garbage can with extra garbage bags. Some kitchen utensils were broken and flimsy. The kitchen did have pots and pans - nothing oven friendly. The bathroom and toilet size were a bit small for 2 teenage boys and a husky man.

It had everything we needed for cooking and plenty of space too.

There wasn't anything we didn't like.

It was nice to have a place to accommodate a group of 8 and be able to cook. We liked the location and self check in. When we were given the wrong key code the response was fairly quick. The facilities were cleaned properly.

I didn't realize the rooms were only 4 feet tall. The AC was disabled. You could not change the fan speed so we were hot quite a bit, especially upstairs. Our visit was in the middle of a pollen explosion and we had the choice of 82° pollenanted air or over 90° with no windows.The water heater seemed small for the occupancy. The oven did not work for baking. It would not come up to temp for a pizza even after 20 min. Again, with no AC. The freezer is also bad. It had a hard time holding items cold and had a burnt smell like it was working too hard when you opened the freezer door. There were not enough blankets for the guests booked, or enough towels. The futon comes with nothing even though it is used to sleep 2 people which I would not recommend unless they are small. When I inquired about the AC they didn't reply at all. The bathroom fan is also dying. It is filled with lint and doesn't remove the moisture from the bathroom. They also didn't provide anything like potholders or baking sheets, much less beach equipment/towels/board games.There is definitely a lot of room to improve. I think for the nightly price, it was quite overpriced. Think of it as a glorified pop-up camper and decide accordingly. It was much nicer than a tent, but not a good value.
