The staff were wonderful. I left my jacket at the property and they were professional and courteous through the process. The bartender was lovely to speak to and the check-in experience was seamless.
The shower head was broken and there was no separator between the wet and dry area which was definitely something that wasn't though through.

Love the remodel, and the little bar in reception. Big, clean room, great shower pressure. We liked this bed so much, we contacted the manager to figure out the brand, and bought one for home!
No too many walkable restaurants, and the drinks were a tad pricey. Everything else wonderful!

The Monterey Motel is a great place. It is conveniently located near old town Albuquerque, the Plaza, Cochina Azul, (best Mexican food in Albuquerque,) Lowe's Organic Market, and other attractions and amenities. Our room was spacious and charming. It was decorated nicely and laid out in a sensible fashion. It was a great use of space. The bed was comfortable, and there was a mini fridge and little coffee maker for us to use. We did not use the pool because we were visiting in February, but the place was nicely landscaped. There is a lovely lounge area where travelers do their check in, and it is attractively decorated and comfortable. We traveled for 2 weeks through New Mexico and Arizona, and the Monterey was our favorite of all the hotels/motels we stayed in. Absolutely a ten out of ten score.

The rooms were fine. The property is clean. It was a holiday weekend and there were no nearby places to eat.
I was quoted a reasonable room rate. I was stranded due to an auto accident. Then I was charged $40 per night MORE than the rate I was quoted. I was promised a refund of the difference would be in my account Monday. It is Wednesday and I have received no refund.
