HI Boston Hostel

Great location and beds were fine. We were in a shared dorm which was what was expected and was a good price compared to similar locations in hotels.

The only slight negative was that our beds were near the door which kept banging and so while it didn't matter too much for a one night stay, it would have been less good if we were there for longer.

It stayed open for late check in. It was easy to store the luggage and leave once checked out. Check in and check out were quite easy. I liked the asian restaurants nearby. I appreciated the curtain in my bunk bed

The room was not very big, I could not sleep for long because a lot of light would enter through the window. I was also not certain whether I ha d to bring my own shower soap or whether I should keep my towel.

the location is prime. but, also, very loud bring one block away from Tufts medical center, with ambulance sirens overnight. There are 1-3 private bath and shower rooms in each bay of each floor. the bed is comfortable, the metal frame did not rattle.

the elevators are all out of order, and the hostel doesn't disclose it's major disruption on this 6 story tall building. the bathroom in the 6 bedroom only makes people get disturbed. the used or new linens are in communal area throughout the day. the curtain at the beds don't close all the way but stops at the ladder steps. less privacy and the sun gets in the face at 6am. or woken up by sirens anyway. This is a major issue. the young male staff with glasses on, Indian or Arabic, has an incomprehensive way of allocating the beds, and forced me to travel up and down the staircase to change back to the the lower bed he didn't give, without asking me of his random decisions. and, the cleaning staff did not update his cleaned rooms and although there was a clean bed in the same room, the front desk make thought it was not and gave me the 6th floor walk up lower bed. I felt he should be retrained for ignoring the preference of bed he has guaranteed. He clams up when he feels defensive. a sign of an immature nature.
