Great stay overall
Staff was very friendly. Shout to penny(?) who helped me over the phone when asking about adjacent rooms!
Room was clean, but i noticed some stains on the headboard and my sheets.

Nice place for a reasonable price but beware of excessive parking fees even in low season.
Facilities and breakfast were good.
The hotel gave us a discount by charging us $20/night for parking of two motorcycles in the same spot! This is in the low season with the parking lot nearly empty. But then they waived the parking fee when asked them to do so when the jacuzzi wasn't working.

A place for a basic stop for a night sleep
Relatively good location
The hotel is outdated (some room furniture may have updated though). In the bathroom some broken things. Disgusting shower curtain.
Fridge didn’t work.
No atmosphere in the hotel, it felt rather dark.
There is an elevator, but you still need to use the stairs.
Overall, feel more like a motel on the road rather than a pleasant vacation destination.

Satisfying comfortable room. Very quiet. Nice staff.
Fireplace in room. Balcony.
Breakfast was mediocre. Just a bit more effort would have made a difference. Food was never warm.

This place is worth it!!!!
This was our first time staying at this hotel and the overall experience was exceptional. From the moment you step in till the moment you check out. Amazing service. Our room was so comfortable. It was quite a walk to get to it but it was located in a very quiet section of the hotel. Very clean!!! I have to emphasize the cleanliness of the room as well as the property. The breakfast was delicious. A great variety of delicious foods to get your day started. And one last thing... the pool. My family and I went to the pool around 8pm. Such a great time. Loved the heated pool. Quiet. Tranquil. Surrounded by pitch darkness and woods. Just serene. Can't wait to go back
Paying for parking was unexpected. $20 is not much but I can see how that can add up if you stay more days. Luckily our stay was for 1 night but it's something I would have to prepare for if I decide to stay longer.

If I’m ever in the area again I will definitely stay here but, I will bring ear plugs.
Parking was great! We pull a trailer. The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was awesome and the chef was super friendly. Loved it.
The rooms are nice and clean but the walls are paper thin. Before bed you heard everyone beside our room talking or their t.v. You could here snoring while trying to sleep.

Great overnight stay except for the power outage.
We liked everything as usual.
$20 to park the car. The power went off before we got home from dinner. It did not come back on until 1:50 am.

Batteries not included
Room was clean and breakfast was good.
The a c wasn't working properly because the thermostat battery was dead. I told the staff multiple times and was told they would send somebody. They never did so I wound up going and buying batteries myself and replacing them out of pocket but by that time my trip was half over and we spent half the trip in a hot room.

The overall stay was nice. The surrounding town was great lots to see.
The place was very clean, friendly staff.
The bed was uncomfortable, they can use a small table in the room. The restaurant was extremely loud.

If you are going to Big Bear, you must stay at the Chateau Boutique Hotel. You won't be sorry.
Loved everything about this hotel. I would stay here again. It was perfect. My grand kids who also came with us loved the place especially the great pool and the game room. This hotel was definitely luxury and the price was great. Next time I go to Big Bear I plan on staying at this hotel. Would recommend this hotel to anyone in a heartbeat. Loved It.
Everything was perfect. Comfortable bed, very clean room, great game room and pool and convenient location.

The hotel's lack of ethics and problem-solving added up to a wretched and tension-filled weekend.
Bed was comfortable. Room was well-designed for maximum use of space. Bathroom was pleasant with a good design and choice of tiles and the shower had good water pressure. The dining hall was well-designed with plenty of space and comfortable furniture. The bar on the weekend had great musical entertainment and the drinks and food were delicious. The gym and the pool were well-designed and were pleasant to use. The hotel is surrounded by a forest of tall trees with a walking trail in the back.
We were provided a connecting room (104) at check-in for a 3-night stay (7/18-7/21). There was nothing on the booking.com site where I had booked the room that said it was connecting and I wouldn't have booked it if informed of that (this is a very unethical practice). I went out and told the front desk that I was "not happy" and wanted to move. I was told twice by the two female desk clerks (one of whom had an English accent) that this was I got for "booking that room" -- whatever that was supposed to mean -- and the hotel was all booked up. I was unable to change rooms.
Within a few hours, the family that had the connecting room arrived and we could hear every single thing said and shouted between the children and the parents, as well as the TV playing. It was like they were in the room with us. (I'm not accusing them of intentionally bothering us -- they were just living their lives and we happened to be too close to hear them.) When we went out little later to again complain to the two female desk clerks about the connecting room, they said to provide them with a phone number so they would call if a room became free over the weekend.
Friday and Saturday passed with the usual room noise next door. Quite frankly, it made us tense and very unhappy. Our hotel room was certainly not a pleasant and restful place to be.
On Sunday, a new couple checked into the connecting room and, again, we heard everything said along with the TV. We sat out in the empty dining hall and asked the clerk on duty if he had seen the note left by the other desk clerks about finding us an open room, but he told us there was no note or any info about our complaint. So I can add the hotel lying to customers as another instance of unethical behavior. We will never stay there again.

Refreshing getaway in a high quality facility with friendly and attentive staff, and tremendous food
The location...tucked in the midst of large fir trees and not on a busy main street was wonderfully refreshing, The staff were quite helpful and fun to relate to. The hotel was clearly a high quality facility. It had a well-appointed lobby, a very nice breakfast area...nicer than many restaurants, and the food was excellent...a great variety and well prepared. A breakfast like this could cost more than $40 for two in a nice restaurant and to our pleasant amazement, it was free. The game room had an excellent and high quality pool table, ping pong table, and other games to play and a comfortable environment with nice seating.
It had nice artwork in the corridors of the floors, but the featured painting in our room above the fireplace was a deer dressed to look like a person. I would rather have beautiful landscape art pieces in the room.

Nice couple getaway
I liked the location and the staff was very nice. Having breakfast on-site was convenient.
I didn't like that there was no elevator access to reach the rooms on the second floor. Both my husband and I have bad knees so having to take the stairs to reach our room and carry bags and luggage was inconvenient. The hot tub was dirty with dead flies and bugs and the pool net to clean it was broken. The breakfast offerings were good, but they only offered pork bacon, and no other options, i.e., turkey. We also did not like that the room did not have a microwave.

Great location, quiet, comfortable.
It was quiet and a location close enough to things. But fast enough away to be quiet and tranquil. I also thought for a longer stay, it was better equipped with amenities than other locations.
The air conditioning could use an upgrade. Screen doors on the sliding door to the balcony would be a great addition.

Complete disaster. Unexpectedly canceled all reservations as guests arrived - false story of power
Nothing.
Worst experience ever, completely unprofessional place. Headline is : last weekend on Saturday they unexpectedly canceled all new guests checking in - using a false story of a power outage (which was in fact planned!). I am not prone to be picky and a seasoned traveller so tend to be not one of those reviewers. In this case : (A) Unlike their hotel competitors who stayed open, they did not but, they failed to email or provide any advance notice from a planned power outage that started 8pm Friday. (B) This is a destination place so they waited until 3-4pm Saturday and told guests as they arrived!. We drove 3 hours for a wedding. (C) No apology or assistance, just rude front desk people who said it wasn't their problem but a "fire risk"--false because other hotels nearby stayed open. (D) Adding insult to injury--guests here who had checked in Friday night were allowed to stay. I still have not received my refund and they front desk gave me a yellow sticky as formal notice that I would get my money back.

'Boutique' or 'Chatueau'?????? Hmm!
Stayed as part of a 14 day road trip. Price for one night was very good. Plenty of parking and pool looked nice, although we never used it. Gym and games room an added extra. As restaurant wasn't open we got an Uber into town to a fab restaurant called 'Oakdale'. Highly recommended.
Not sure about the words 'chateau' and 'boutique'. Quite a standard hotel really which im sure is really busy in winter with the ski season. Whole place had a smell of cooking oil / fat from the kitchen. No bar or restaurant open (apart from breakfast) which was disappointing after a very long drive. Man at check in was very surly and not welcoming at all, however lady in morning on checkout was much better. It wasn't expensive for one night so suited our needs, but nothing special.

The receptionist penny?(English lady who had moved over here) was very helpful even though we arrived early and she had, had a busy morning checking people out. Arranged a very nice room and suggested some places to go.
This is a good value hotel with nice amenities.
