It was a nice little weekend getaway, for a low price, which is what we wanted.

We've stayed at the PB Surf before, and really like its location just a block away from the beach. There are restaurants and a coffee shop within an easy walk. And for being along Mission Blvd, it was fairly quiet at night.

In our previous stays we were in a room with a small breakfast nook. We were in a smaller room this time and missed that extra amenity. We did notice that the toilet in our room kept running. And the parking lot is pretty tight; when large vehicles are parked there it can be nerve-wracking to navigate out.

Unclean! broken everything!!

Everything was broken! The lights, the mirror, the bathroom door wasn’t locking. The mirrors were not clean, the bed had stains on it and hairs were literally everywhere like on our pillows, the toilet paper!!! The towels!! The location was great that it was in pb but I honestly don’t think I could’ve stayed here longer than one night.

great location, comfortable bed , nice shower but surge pricing was a gouge off season

location, bed and shower were all very good. Check in was right on time and the attendant was friendly. there was ample parking

chairs need to be changed out, could use a more comfortable chair instead of high tops for reading and meditation. my showers did not have soap. the surge pricing for the weekend was totally unwarranted as there were rooms available as well as at the sister location

The location can't be beat.A block from beach and a lot of drink and dining options nearby.

The room was beyond tiny. Bathroom was a box and guests and property was loud. The sister property (Pacific Shores Inn) a block away, (where you have pool access as it is not on the property as advertised) offered a free night stay past 3 nights and accommodations looked much more spacious.

Location was amazing as two young adults travelling, a lot of night out spots, multiple restaurants, beach less than 3 minute walk. Bus stop to la jolla and into the old town right outside the place

No pool onsite like advertised but beach very walkable so was not an issue for us

This is a bare bones hotel that hasn't been upgraded

The room was spacious, and the hotel is close to a nice walking path above the beach, perfect for viewing the sunset.

The walls are thin and the plumbing noisy. The WiFi worked only in one corner of the room, on the bed, not at the desk. (I was towards the end of the building and probably far from their router). The carpet was stained, the towels rough. The bathroom not fully stocked (no bathmat, missing soap dispenser in bathroom) and the faucet sprayed all over. Parking is a bit challenging, though I managed to find a spot when I needed one. And there is no breakfast.

My room lacked any clothes storage area, no dresser, unlike the room I had previously at this property.. The bathroom sink was significantly cracked, and the shower lacked a body soap dispenser.

It was good for what it was. Ideal for short stay, but iffy for long term.

Close proximity to beach. Hotel not as noisy as one would expect considering location.

Spartan. One chair in room (for desk.) No storage beyond closet to hang items. No real surface areas to place things. Parking was free, but it was like changing clothes in a phone booth.

No breakfast, staff was nice…

Cleanliness, upon first going in it smelled like sweat and sewer, when we closed the bathroom door and sprayed Lysol it helped. It looked like sheets had been slept on already. We drove to Walmart and bought some king sized sheets just to get us through the night, grey sheets anre ours and then went to another hotel/cottage. The sink was cracked in bathroom, others hair was along outside of shower, looks like plumbing problems with some water damage to lower walls of bathroom. We also bought Lysol to kill any germs.

Very relaxing and would definitely stay here again

It was quite, peaceful friendly person's it was close to the beach/ocean. Could actually see the ocean from our roomsome. The staff where polite and very helpful

Some of the things in the room where slightly broken i.e. the toilet paper holder was coming off the wall, but was able to slide it back on. The d[r strip was ripped back, leaving a crack to be seen under the door.

Very good value

This is a very clean, extremely quiet location very close to the beach. Please be aware what others are saying. This location does NOT have a pool, business center, in-lobby coffee, laundry. All of these things are in other hotels owned by the same group. I blame the booking agencies like Travelocity and Booking.com. The owners have been trying for 5 years to get these agencies to correct the 3-4 hotels owned by the group. The booking agencies refuse to correct these. Don't blame the hotel owners. The pool was a block away and very nice - protected from wind. The beds were very comfortable. Staff very nice

Way too expensive for no service hotel.

Short walk to the beach is a plus. Walking distance to the stores and markets. Parking is a challenge, it’s basically first come first get the parking space otherwise you park on the street.

Everything is fine except they need to put more extra amenities, we runs out toilet paper, conditioner and coffee on our first day, we thought in the morning the cleaning ladies will clean our room and restock but never did. 😑 Luckily i always have everything ready for my family. For the high price we paid we expected everything is full service and completed by the staff. Like no need to throw our trash out ourselves 😏

Decent location.

No parking was available had to park 2 blocks away. Receptionist was very rude and unwelcoming. Bed had no duvet cover and felt like bed bugs.

Great location with the beach a 100 steps away. Lot’s of restaurants in the area within minutes from PB Beachside. Can’t go wrong if you decide on staying here
