The toilet ran incessantly- very annoying as I am a light sleeper and sound sensitive. Fix your toilet!! Otherwise it would have been an excellent stay. This was a big bummer.

Overnight in Hood River

Nice location. Good price point. Comfortable bed. Clean room, except for the smell. Room has the smell of very stale cigarette smoke. I opened the window, left the bathroom vent fan on and nothing helped get rid of the bad smell. In addition, the cloth covered bench was covered in stains.

Fine utilitarian stay, but will look elsewhere for next visit.

Location

Office was totally closed to visitors until listed check in time (4:00) as far as I could tell, so I didn’t even have a chance to ask for early check-in time (@ 2:30). Once in the unit that evening, the AC unit was loud, unadjustable, and not blowing cool air on night #1. Tried to talk to staff in AM as I was leaving for a fiull day of work, but office was closed at 7:30 AM. Was able to request AC repair when I came back that evening, but the office reeked of Indian curry and tika masala or some other Indian foods. Not my jam, but AC repair was done to my satisfaction. The hardwired smoke alarm dangled loosely from the ceiling the whole time, I didn’t mention it because I assumed it would still be working, and frankly I had a lot of work to do during my visit.

Property was clean, quiet & was conveniently located to restaurants & shopping.

The room was rather crowded with too much large furniture making it ditto to maneuver in with luggage etc. The owner/manager that checked us in was not friendly & almost seemed that we were a bother to him. However the young boy we spoke to earlier in the day, was quite helpful & polite. We felt the room was over priced considering they offered no breakfast.

The staff was amazingly accommodating towards our late arrival. The place was very clean and I felt very safe.

No housekeeping came by during our 2 night stay for towel and coffee refresh. Requested a room on lower floor due to medical device for my mother and was given a 2nd floor room. There are no elevators and stairs between the sets of rooms, which made getting around a bit tricky for anyone with heavy luggage or trouble walking.

nicely remodeled bathroom, except the toilet had no lid... just the seat. Like a gas station or utilitarian rest room. In such a tiny bathroom, it's often convenient to have a solid extra seat (brushing teeth while someone else is at the sink, that sort of thing). Beds were comfy and firm. Fridge worked. TV worked. Good full size mirror is door to small actual closet (not always expect a closet in motels these days). Convenient to Safeway. Sloping well off the main road, it was generally quiet.

The Sunset Motel was fine for a one night stay. It was a bit overpriced for what it was.

It allowed us a one night stay during summer tourist season.

Room was very small. Bathroom clean but needed to be upgraded. We were greeted at the door by a sign that said check in at 4 check out at 11. The same sign greeted us in the lobby. No staff anywhere until we came back to check-in at 4. Really not conducive to a good feel about the place.

Overall amazing value, no thrills but lovely owners and centrally located.

The price couldn’t have been better! The staff were incredibly friendly, polite, and accommodating. The rooms were clean and although they were simple, they were centrally located next to Safeway, Starbucks, and several fast food places within walking distance. The hotel is somewhat outdated, but it was a comfortable place to stay and we would stay again without hesitation.
