Disappointing Hotel Room- Could Be Just This Room or the Whole Hotel

The room was pretty, the price was good for a last minute trip right before on season.

The bedsheets were very scratchy, and while I am not certain there were bed bugs, I lived in another country that had them, and I felt very similar after waking up. The reviews were glowing on booking, and while those might be legitimate, it was hard to see this as a 9.1 rated property. While the staff was helpful, it was strange to walk to the office, have the father of one person call his son, and then the son come over from a different room each time I had a question. At 115 am, there was some sort of rodent or animal inside the walls near the bathroom seemingly digging down to the bathroom, although it did not get through. I did report this to the office as we checked out, but it is worth mentioning here. Overall, I was hoping for more from a place that reviewed so well.

Rooms were well equipped, including a bright red refrigerator with a freezer, a well-stocked coffee area, and a well-stocked bathroom. The breakfast included warm dishes as well as cereal and yoghurt and was pleasant

Relaxing and welcoming stay.

The property is well managed and cared for, with extra tokens of hospitality like pineapple juice and candy in the room. Private use of the hot tub and sauna made it extra relaxing.

There’s nothing not to like. It’s an older property that’s been refreshed with much care and personality.

Comfortable, clean and quiet stay, great for an overnight stop

This was our first time staying in a motel/ lodge, coming from the UK. It was so clean, comfortable, easy and quiet. The bed was soft and really comfortable, I slept really well. There was a big tv, little kitchenette area with a coffee machine, fridge and microwave, super clean sink area. Check in was easy. The breakfast is simple and you help yourself but we enjoyed a little sausage and egg muffin before hitting the road. Would stay again!

Really well thought out renovation!

Nice design of the room. Windows that opened a fresh Colorado air. Reading lights on both sides of the bed. Coffee maker in room along with mini fridge and microwave. Bathroom around the corner from the bed so that the light doesn’t bother your partner. Clean, fluffy towels. Nice coffee cups. Very comfy non-scary recliner chair and a desk with a chair. Perfect for how we travel.

The bed was a bit wiggly and soft. Next time I would go for two queens so I don’t bug my partner.

Retro motel with character

Pleasant, old-fashioned motel with character. Well-priced for the location and time of year.

We were in a first-floor room that looks out onto the adjacent marshy open land behind the motel. Around 3:00 in the morning we heard rodent activity in the ceiling/wall (running and scratching). When we checked out the next morning, we stopped by the reception desk to let them know, but there was nobody there. This seems to be a clean and well-maintained property so I assume they address these issues promptly.

Check-in was easy and the staff was friendly. The room had comfortable beds, a small kitchenette and a table to sit at. The breakfast buffet was good. The downtown area was an easy 5-10 minute drive away.

The rooms were nicely appointed.

You can tell it is an old hotel. Some areas of the room, in particular the bathroom needed a better upgrade. Beautiful glass slider on the shower but it really needed a full remodel. Old heating elements by toilet, old tile in the shower.

Terrific place to stay in Salida. Great staff, beautiful rooms, excellent breakfast!

We loved this lodge! Our room was on the second floor with a small mountain view. The decor was beautiful, and the bed was so comfortable. We enjoyed the coffee choices for the mini Keurig in the room. The shower was wonderful with plenty of pressure and hot water! We didn't get a chance to use the hot tub or the sauna, but it's on our list for the next visit. The staff was wonderful, so friendly and accommodating! We love Salida and this location was just perfect for us. The continental breakfast was wonderful and had a great selection of items. We will definitely be back to stay at the Silver Ridge Lodge again - we loved it!

The room beside us had two large dogs in it. The people left their room and the dogs barked off and on until they returned. Thankfully they returned before we were ready to go to sleep.

Top notch stay, many upgrades, wonderful staff, upgraded room!

From start (with Joe) to finish everything about this stay was beyond wonderful! We have stayed at this property over the years but there are so many outstanding upgrades. Got to meet the person who did a lot of the work - exceptional. The room was homey (meant in a positive way) with nice bedding and furniture and new carpet and very clean. The property had places for our dog to get out and she was welcomed along with us. Very pet friendly for well behaved dogs! Just got coffee on way out but guests were enjoying sitting inside and on patio. Will definitely make this our choice stay. Don't let the unassuming facade fool you - it's a great property! Wonderful staff!

You will not be disappointed!

We were pleasantly surprised! The rooms are clean and the most comfortable bed we have ever stayed in at a hotel! They have everything you could need in your room including coffee, mini refrigerator, microwave, soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and even snack for the humans and a treat for a pet! The continental breakfast area is clean, well stocked, and staffed by the most friendly people ! We did not get to take advantage of the hot tub or sauna, but love that it was available! The hotel is only 4 minutes from downtown and has a beautiful view of the mountains. We would absolutely stay here again on our next visit to Salida!

Staff will never give you the impression that the joynt is smoke-free!

The salt-water (chemical-free) hot tub and sauna. The closeness to the old town. The comfortable beds and swanky kitchenette.

The staff will never give off the impression that the property is smoke-free. EVERY SINGLE ONE of the staff smoked on the property, we never had a break from their smoking. The garden chairs were not comfortable, despite having impressive views of surrounding mountains. One of the owner-operators came home -- she lives on property -- to the motel from her day job swearing and cussing about her supervisor and telling them all where they could shove it. TOTALLY a bummer to have to experience that on property.

A nicely upgraded, roadside motel you actually enjoy being at.

This is basically a typical, roadside motel--except it is a very nice one compared to the usual somewhat shabby presentation. The place was very clean. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The facilities have been nicely upgraded with all pretty new finishes. The location is very convenient with highway access but close to downtown center. I was pleased to be there whereas typical roadside hotels are never pleasing! Keep it up.

The house keeper forgot to refill the soap in shower. All I got was one squirt. That was the only disappointment.

We love love love staying here! The room was remodeled a combo contemporary 50’s look. New Indoor Hot tub and Sauna very nice. Like that they use Salt Water and not harsh chemicals. Staff friendly of course I’m biased as we have been customers for years now.
