Location was amazing! Staff was friendly and helpful.
Parking was tight, but nice to be onsite.

The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated close to downtown and close to several bars and restaurants as well as theatres and auditoriums. The lounge and breakfast are awesome!
Stairs are steep and showing their age.

Location is good, right in the heart of downtown (such as it is) Spokane.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
Room was basically clean, although had a musty smell and some signs of not-thorough cleaning (a clump of hair near the shower drain, for instance).
Pretty good included breakfast options.
Some of the rooms seem to be out of reach of a strong or consistent wifi connection. My first room had intermittent and very slow connectivity. To the staff's credit, when I told them about this, they took it seriously and tried to address the problem. When that didn't work, they switched me to a new room, where it worked well. So I appreciate that, but beware of this if you need a good connection for work, etc.
The heavy gated door to one of the stairwells closes VERY loudly, and if your room is anywhere in the vicinity, it can be startling or even disturb your sleep.

Great location, clean and comfortable room with a great shower.
You can hear everything outside of your room and in the rooms next to you. This is most likely the reason earplugs are provide in the room. The breakfast next door in the morning is very good and you do get a free beer or wine in the lounge if they are open

Room was clean & functional, but rather small. Included a discounted breakfast for two at an affiliate restaurant which was good - but did NOT include coffee. Tight quarters all around the motel itself.

Great location- it had good vibes- felt safe. We appreciated the elevator & 2 queen beds.
Tiny parking spots, although they also have additional parking across the street.

Great location for concerts at the Knit, Fox or Bing. Free breakfast next door is good.
Not the greatest part of town but close to venues so that's ok

The room and decor were very nice. Very hip. I liked the Sapphire Lounge too. Check in and out was easy. Staff was cool. Location was pretty good and having Rosie's next store was fantastic. Really liked getting the breakfast partially covered. I liked the gated entrances so that people couldn't just walk around by the rooms without legitimate access. I also liked that you had a nice little smoking area, too.
Had a problem with housekeeping. I didn't realize we had to ask for housekeeping. I asked in the morning and then we went out and came back at 4 and it hadn't been done. Kind of disappointing. The other thing was that someone could have vacuumed the carpeting outside.

The room was large and the bed was comfy. The front desk staff were welcoming and helpful. I was able to nab a parking spot in the lot right in the courtyard of the hotel which was great - for only $5. They give you a breakfast voucher for the restaurant next door. The hotel is close to many restaurants and is within walking distance of Riverside Park.
Nothing - no problems!

If you need a place to crash for a few hours, this place may be ok. We booked it because the listing on the booking site had it as clean, with parking, free breakfast and a gym. Well, not so fast…
The check-in lady was friendly enough. I didn’t catch her name though, but she had blue hair. Check-in was fast, though. When I asked about the breakfast, I was provided with a coupon for 1 person. I mentioned that we were 2 people, but she referred to the company policy: 1 breakfast coupon per room. This is some nonsense! You rent out rooms to 2-4 people and you give them 1 coupon for breakfast? That breakfast was being redeemable at the restaurant (Rosie’s) next door. It had a value of $6 towards each of their regular menu items, or it would “pay” for 3 items listed on the coupon. No coffee, no beverages included.
The free parking was not so free after all. The place had about 15 parking spots available for hotel guests. That is far less than the number of rooms. They charge $5 per night per car, and they add tax to that. If you cannot find parking there or don’t want to pay for it, you have to find street parking, but from what we saw, that was also for a fee, at least Mondays through Saturdays. Sundays seem to offer free street parking.
The gym was also a misconception. Hotel Ruby itself does not have a gym onsite. Instead they ask you to walk down the street to some gym that could be used. I am not sure if there is a fee involved though.
The room itself was not too bad. It was small, but pretty clean, and it had a fridge and a microwave. Flooring reminded me of upgraded Motel 6 floors. The bathroom was nice. Bedding seems old and Motel 6 style. That 60/40 fabric that makes you sweat at night. The TV didn’t work, but the check-in lady came and fixed it for us within 15 minutes.
The place had an elevator, and our room was on the first floor.
Breakfast policy, parking policy, it’s not a hotel but a motel.

Excellent location. On-site parking and just the right distance from the RR tracks.
Check in was a half hour late and still haven’t received an email of my receipt.

Downtown location
Noise at all hours from other guests yelling and banging things and slamming doors

The breakfast was very good. The front desk attendant, Jade was as helpful as they could be.
Room had food in the fridge. Garbage in the garage cans. Only 1 full sized towel and there were 0 fresh towels available on site. The 1 good towel smelled. The fan in the bathroom didn’t work. There were stains on the towels and floors. Area was noisy and alot of “street people”

The location was a bit loud because of its proximity to near by bars and the random transient shouting in the middle of the night lol.
The room had a funny smell upon arrival. The toilet wouldn't flush on command and the vent in the bathroom wouldn't stay on.
The breakfast at Rosie's was great!
The old hotel smell and the noise outside which lasted pretty late into the night

Good price, great location, $5 off- street parking, super friendly staff.
Room was a bit small and downtown location will be loud.
9.0 / 10.0
Good location, safe & quiet.
Later flight, there were a lot of homeless down town. I guess this is normal for any large city. Easy walk to Spokane Falls.

How close you are to the Knitting Factory, bed was comfortable
Gate to go upstairs was slammed all night long, consistently waking us up when someone when come through and let the gate slam shut. Heard a lot of screaming from different people. We ordered Doordash and a neighboring guest tried to intimidate us.

Only one breakfast coupon per room is given. It should be per person.

Likes: location was very convenient. Easy walking distance to the water and downtown attractions. Complimentary breakfast @ Rosie's diner next door, and it was a real breakfast with sausages and eggs. Room had everything you need-- shampoo, soap, towels, ac/fan/heater, hangers, clothes iron, and even a fridge/ microwave which was appreciated.
Dislikes: a little dirty (they didn't do a thorough cleaning before I checked in... There was still poop ON the toilet seat, hair on the bathroom floor, and the fitted sheets of the bed were inside out). The wifi did not work well (it mostly worked in the bathroom).

Didn’t like the uncleanliness of the room. Hair and garbage on the floor. The beds were not comfortable. The upstairs was very loud and the toilet barely flushed

I liked the location of hotel within the entertainment district.
The queen bed was comfy.
Room was spacious.
The room was quiet; it's downtown but area seems to quiet down after entertainment venues shut down.
Bathroom was clean, but on the smaller side. I do appreciate the long countertop provided for your bathroom supplies.
Free parking.
I would not recommend this hotel for anyone that has mobility restraints.
Only one elevator and it is tiny. Due to function design, you and the luggage cart just barely fits.
To get to second floor, you have to go up 4 steps, no other options.
The hallways are narrow.
Presence of lots of displaced/houseless folks around neighborhood during the day, but they seem to disappear after dark (shelter in place), so felt safe walking around after dark as I was a single traveler.

Nice and quiet. Location downtown.
Would like a little more variety for breakfast.
7.0 / 10.0
Location. Value. Pretty quiet given the location. Kitchy bathroom fixtures. Good mix of old school and post-modern. New appliances, good sized fridge. History. Staff was very nice. Haunting nighttime visitors ;)
Parking is TIGHT! Heater didn’t work, we got some extra blankets so it was fine, but nonetheless. Not traditional hotel furniture, so we stubbed our toes a ton on the bed frame, also not level so our heads were lower than our feet, we slept backwards to accommodate the head rush. :)
