DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront

Facility, room, beach, entertainment all excellent.

Receptionist during check-in, she no hospitality at all, attempted to double charge for stay, no information as to layout of facility, paid in advance for 3 nights resort fees most all amenities include in paid prices, breakfast include Not noted in system nor informed where and why not annotated later she realize everything was paid for she took no action in explaining Nothing. This trip was scheduled to celebrate my Wife 66th birthday, July 27th. check-in on 25th July out on morning 28th. Hostess at breakfast unprofessional, young man, waited approximate 7 minutes while he talked on phone. No training and no supervision at hostess podium.

I changed the dates, recieved notification and confirmation that the price will be lower. Hotel confirmed id receive a refund. Then received an email from booking.com (should be called bookascam.com) that I owed a few dollars. Spoke to someone from booking.com they said that the price confirmed for the new dates did not include taxes. This was not stated, also in the message it was comparing the price with taxes to the new price that apparently did not have taxes. Now if the hotel confirmed a refund and reduced price, what the hell is booking.com talking about. Seems like they wanted to maximise their commissions. Then at the hotel for breakfast I gave my room number to the guy at the counter, he confirmed breakfast was included. I sat down, waiter came and we ordered some drinks. When I left to go check-out in the reception where there was a bunch of other guests hanging out, the waiter chased after me and asked for payment for the drinks. I told her isn’t it included, she asked for room number and said ok. Luckily the lovely receptionists confirmed it but even she was confused why the waiter chased after me and embarrassed me infront of all the other guests. She didn’t even approach me and discuss whatever her thoughts were confidentially. Ridiculous. So now I know, no more booking.com and no more doubletree. Other than that, room was nice, breakfast was mediocre, views were nice and facilities were good.
